About this listen
She never meant to fall for the country star. He never expected to find his muse in the woman with walls higher than his fame. Dottie Monroe has spent years hiding in plain sight. Working backstage at the Nashville's most famous country music showcase, keeping her past locked tight behind a quick wit and a no-nonsense attitude. Music was once her escape, but it’s been a long time since she let herself dream of anything more. Enter Chandler York, country music’s golden boy with charm for days, a career on the rise, and a complicated heart of his own. When a twist of fate throws them together for a songwriting collaboration, what begins as reluctant partnership turns into something deeper, both musically and emotionally. As their slow-burn connection grows, Dottie is faced with a choice: keep hiding in the shadows or step into the spotlight, scars and all. But when a devastating betrayal shatters the fragile trust they’ve built, both will have to confront their pasts, their fears, and the truth about what they mean to each other. Set against the rich backdrop of Nashville’s country music scene, this is a story of healing, hope, and the power of a love that doesn’t just save...it sings.

Narrated by Jess Wright who does an Amazing job at portraying ALL of the characters in this story..Jess really showed her talents as she was able to voice Male and Female characters with ease and expressed every emotion they felt perfectly through her voice.
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her narrate this book.
This is a slow burn romance between Dottie and Chandler,it takes them a while to become something more than friends.
Dottie works from paycheck to paycheck at The Grand ole Opry she is a waitress to the V.I.P guests who play there and it is were she first meets Chandler...when he performs there.
Chandler is from a wealthy disapproving family, they don't agree with is career choice..but music is all that he wants to do.
Dottie is the grumpy one in this book her past has made her cynical and jaded she is guarded and is not fazed by Chandlers star status, instead she gives him a hard time.
But it is this very thing that enchants Chandler about Dottie when Dottie keeps brushing him off fate intervenes. It is a melody that they both can't get out of their heads that brings them together.
Chandler unexpectedly sees Dottie sing and asks her to work with him on the melody.
Dottie is a talented songwriter she is great at writing lyrics and Chandler is an Amazing musician and literally together they make beautiful music together.
As they spend time with eachother they become friends and they think about one another way too much and it is only a matter of time before they become romantically involved.
But unfortunately there are obstacles for them to get over, being in the spotlight has its downside and there are some people that are NOT happy that they are together as a couple.
I was so mad because of the way some people treated Dottie because of the way she looked and the way she lived(being a mere waitress)..and it is outside influences that could be their downfall.
I loved Chandler he is the Sunshine in this book,he was so patient and supportive with Dottie he falls hard and fast and is completely smitten with Dottie.
Dottie is very Sassy and a real firecracker she takes no crap off anyone but her walls are so hard to break down,Chandler helps her open up and gives her the confidence to sing.
Dottie helps chandler be in love for the first time as he never got that with his family, they are very cute together.
I also loved Chandlers band mates and Dotties friend Kitty she is a great friend and I am hoping that she gets a book and a HEA...Her love life is complicated and it involves Chandlers band mates.
Allie Dorson has written a captivating, emotional and sweet story creating characters that are easy to connect with..well except for the horrible ones.I enjoyed her writing and found she is a great storyteller.
I am looking forward to book 2 and discovering what that story will be...I enjoyed Will The Heart Be Unbroken very much.

Dottie is used to hiding not just her talent also her emotions. Music was her life, her escape, dreaming of being a singer. Dottie takes no nonsense. Chandler is a man who is the golden boy of country music. When these two other have to work together in for a song writing collaboration, what starts out as just a partnership turns slowly into a lot poor.
This book has twists, emotions and romance.
