Summary

Ein Ort in der französischen Provinz in den 1990er-Jahren: Die Eltern, gezeichnet von harter Arbeit, verfallen den Versprechungen der Nationalisten. Doch jetzt im Sommer herrscht Aufbruchstimmung, alle haben viel zu viel Zeit und am See mit Badekleidung verwischen die Standesunterschiede. Alles scheint möglich - zumindest für eine kurze Zeit.

Großartig

Das Buch beschreibt die Jugend in den 90ern in Frankreich (die meiner eigenen Erinnerungen in Deutschland ähnelt) auf einmalige Weise. Die Eltern-Kind Beziehungen sind herzbrechend-ehrlich dargestellt und die ganze Tragik des Romans ist unglaublich berührend, weil sie so glaubhaft ist.
