great for a shorter book

I was hesitant since this book is on the shorter end but it was very informative. It opened my mind to other aspects of fasting than just weight loss but I really appreciate. Seeing different views is important for me.

Very Useful Resource!

This topic is very interesting to me because my dad does fasting and told me about it before, but he didn't explain how everything works in the body and skeptical about it. As I look back the history of his health, it makes sense. I am so happy that I found this book. I learned a lot from this book. There are lot of health benefits of fasting and a lot of scientific studies and real world examples, making the case for fasting even more convincing. And there are different type of fasting including intermittent fasting, water fasting, and juice fasting which I found fascinating because I think someday I do water and fasting with my busy day without realizing it.

" Why You Should Fast" emphasizes the importance of individualizing fasting protocols to suit different needs and goals. It provides practical advice on how to choose the right type of fasting, how to prepare for and break a fast, and how to incorporate fasting into your lifestyle safely and effectively.

Overall, this book is an excellent resources for anyone interested in health benefits of fasting.

Fast to lose

Stephen Sharp has written a great book and it is narrated by Jason Young expertly. The narration is so good that we required very little pausing or rewinding while taking our notes.

Having just started an intermittent fasting program about a week ago we are devouring all the info we can to help us with our journey. The word fasting is definitely scary because at first we thought we would be starving ourselves. Well, you aren't quite starving yourself and there are multiple ways to achieve your goals from fasting as outlined by Mr. Sharp.

Without a doubt the most significant impact to fasting for us has been our mental clarity and sharpness. I know you would think it is weight loss and that very well may become #1 but right now 2 weeks in it is our mental clarity that has been effected the most.

In our limited research prior to listening to this book we did not know about the correlation between fasting and disease. We found this section to be very enlightening. It is clear to us now that the health benefits from fasting go much deeper than just weight loss.

We highly recommend this book

Helpful review of the many benefits of fasting

I've done 3 and 7 day fasts in the past, but not for a few years now. I was curious about getting back into this, so I was happy to find this listen. It goes over ways to get back into fasting or where to start if you've never tried. The author has given me some inspiration to give this a go again due to all of the listed health benefits. As a former scientist, I also appreciated the explanations as to what fasting actually does to the body.

Why Fast?

The answers to the question "why fast" lie in this great resource. The author explores the reasons behind this latest fad of intermittent fasting but more. Exploring the hidden spiritual benefits was my favorite part of this book. The in depth look and approach to understanding the principles of fasting and not just the health benefits makes this book worth the listening more than once. Well laid out.

Great Advice

Perfect amount of information in this book

"Why You Should Fast" is a great intro on the science and art of fasting. People fast for different reasons but I had no idea how many excellent reasons there are for fasting! This book touches on all the topics you should know if you are interested in fasting and why it is healthy to do so. I learned a ton! I appreciate the author's thoughts on fasting for spirituality too. The narrator's voice is quite pleasant and easy to listen to. Well done!

Great resource to learn about fasting

It seems like everyone talks about fasting these days and this book does a fantastic job of cutting through the fluff, giving you concrete data and steps to get started. I like how the book goes beyond just the concept of fasting and gives some nutrition advice. And something I love is how the author talks about situations when people shouldn't fast. For me, that gives much more credence to the book, because the author is actually educating people instead of just pushing a subject matter. Highly recommend!

OH Juiced and Packed

Now, we all know some benefits of fasting, and the main one is weight loss. For me it had primarily been for overall health, not knowing the additional benefits like diabetes prevention, fighting cancer, fighting again alzheimers or dementia and so forth. Goodness, this audiobook was well narrated and very informative on the different type of fasting. I'll have to playback again. I recommend you listen too.
