Story
Our kids are moving less than any other generation in human history; indoor time and screen time have skyrocketed. As adults and kids turn more to "convenient" tech-based solutions, tasks that once required head-to-toe use of our muscles and bones can be done with a click and a swipe. Without realizing it, we’ve traded convenience for the movement-rich environment that our physical, mental, and environmental health depends on.

Vital info, somewhat disappointing book

Summary
Barefoot enthusiasts say ditching your shoes is essential for optimal whole-body function. Doctors say minimalist shoes cause injury. Who's right? What if they both are? In Whole Body Barefoot, biomechanist Katy Bowman explains how both sides are right and wrong by broadening the perspective of over-simplified "shoes are good" or "shoes are bad" arguments. Using evolutionary-based and biomechanical arguments, Bowman demonstrates that shoes, in a modern context, have purpose, but that the trade-off for protection can be reduced whole-body health if we don't select the right shoes for our body and skill-level.

Outstanding book read well by the author
Would you listen to Whole Body Barefoot: Transitioning Well to Minimal Footwear again? Why?
Yes - it contains a lot of information and I'm sure I will take additional things in if I listen again.
Any additional comments?
If you enjoyed this, try 'Move your DNA' by the same author. It's quite technical, but I felt that because the actual author is reading it, she manages to make some fairly complex issues interesting and easier to understand.

Fun, informative, a must read for EVERYBODY
Would you listen to Whole Body Barefoot: Transitioning Well to Minimal Footwear again? Why?
Very easy to listen to; varied aspects of foot health. This is not just a rant about not wearing shoes...Katy is very open to all opinions out there and doesn't push anything but facts. She encourages you to think for yourself and to apply ideas to your own body.
What did you like best about this story?
Katy rocks. I'm sure I will never be able to listen to another narrator. This is my first audio book, and I fear she has set the bar quite high. I love listening to her. It's just easy.
What about Katy Bowman’s performance did you like?
She's funny. She sounds full of life. She is confident, knowledgeable and open. Love it.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. But I didn't. It is a lot of information afterall. But I could have.
Any additional comments?
The bloopers at the end were the best (I mean, not really the best, because the book was the best), but you know a Californian 'the best'. If you can laugh yourself silly listening to someone talk about anatomy I think she must be funny.
