Summary

Sacagawea was only 16 when she made one of the most remarkable journeys in American history, traveling 4500 miles by foot, canoe, and horse-all while carrying a baby on her back! Without her, the Lewis and Clark expedition might have failed. Through this engaging book, kids will understand the reasons that today, 200 years later, she is still remembered and immortalized on a new golden dollar coin.

Everything was great (from my 5 year old)

The sad part was some of her parents died and her whole family group died. Everything else was happy. I don't think there are any more bad parts. I guess in would tell other people to listen to this (then she launches into a rap song. That is her dad's influence.)

One of our first "who was" and still a favorite

My 6 year old daughter loves this story. Kevin Pariseau is a great narrator and we wish penguin would hire him again to put more of their "who was" books into audio form.

Great family story on car ride.

Narrator does a good job. Kids asked to listen to it repeatedly on our long ride. they also enjoyed the one on Abraham Lincoln.

Great story for kids

This is a great story to teach kids about the Lewis and Clark exhibition. We listened to it on a road trip and now we plan to buy more of this series. Good for 7 and up.

Very informational

I liked how there were many different facts that I did not know. I won’t really recommend it as a book to read for fun, but was helpful
