Who HQ
Selena Gomez has always had a knack for performing. She grew up singing, dancing, and putting on shows for her Italian Mexican American family at home in Texas. It didn’t take long for Selena to become a television regular on Barney & Friends, landing the role when she was only ten years old! Disney Channel saw her potential, and cast Selena in the role of Alex Russo in Wizards of Waverly Place. Suddenly, Selena was an international star! Her world changed overnight, but Selena settled into the spotlight, eventually releasing her own music in addition to continuing her work as an actress, notably on the hugely popular television show Only Murders in the Building.
Over the course of her career, Selena learned to use her fame and voice for causes she cared deeply about. She eventually became a producer on a television series that brought awareness to mental health, and she created her own makeup brand, Rare Beauty, which encourages people to feel good in their own skin. Learn all about the inspiring life and career of Latina actress Selena Gomez in this biography for young readers.
