Summary

It only took one heartbeat to change my life - one chilling phone call in the middle of the night.

And then, as if my life didn't already suck, my dad sends my brother and me to some idyllic island for the summer to live with a grandma we never met. WTH. Naturally, I rebel. In the end, I find myself shipped off to Raven Hallow... and bored to tears.

Until I get an eyeful of the mind-bendingly gorgeous Zane Hunter. The dark-haired cutie makes my pulse go bonkers, and I think, maybe this might not be so bad after all. Six feet of swoon-inducing looks, with a hint of Celtic charm in his voice, he was the type of guy that left a string of broken hearts in his wake. And I had all the heartbreak I could handle.

Yet, there is something uncanny, almost supernatural about Zane, and it's not just his devastating smirk. No matter how much distance I put between us, Raven Hallow isn't big enough, and the sparking tension between is undeniable. Of course, the one person I want to avoid becomes my salvation.

My past comes back to terrorize me. Someone wants me dead, and the closer I get to the truth, the more I realize my whole life is a lie. I am no longer sure what is more frightening - the attempts on my life or the guy whose heart and soul are synchronized with mine.

Interesting plot

I received a free audio copy of this book directly from the author for an honest review.

It’s a definite 3 and 1/2 star here for me. Sections of this book I loved the plot was interesting kept me engaged with different secrets and mystery and definitely enough to want to read the next book too! I just didn’t connect with the characters like I would like to. Maybe as a teenager I would have though but reading now I just find her whinny and frustrating. She just lost her mother in a horrific manor and her dad is shit I get that but rather than strength it’s acting out and being rather selfish herself. I’m hoping with the next book her character will grow as it didn’t seem so out there towards the end of the book especially with how things ended. I’m interested to see how that will be handled.

falling for the bad boy

I enjoyed listening to this first part of a triology.

I like the characters but the narration did start off a bit breathlessly for my liking. I prefer more that the book is read rather than acted.

I look forward to seeing where this story goes

White Raven

I had mixed feeling about this one. I liked the story and world building but I didn't like the main character. she was really annoying and moaned a lot. I honestly felt like slapping her.
Also, I felt the book moved really slowly, if it was a book I would have passed the beginning about the main character moaning about her life, I understand she lost someone but she went on about it for a while and I must admit that I lost interest for a while. But once it started to get interesting it grabed my attention.
The book wasn't bad and it could be me who is thinking this way and others might enjoy it a lot more then I did.

Brilliant

Intriguing coming of age story set in a wonderful supernatural setting. The vivid descriptions in this book are beautifully brought to life by the brilliant narration. I would recommend listening to this book and can't wait for the next one.

Great Teenage PNR

I really enjoyed this book. Piper's world is turned upside down when a huge tragedy strikes. Piper and her brother go stay with their estranged grandmother. Piper starts experiencing strange feelings once they get to Raven Hollow. When she meets Zane for the first time there is something that she is drawn to. There are sparks between them and everyone can tell. When Zane tells her the secrets of her family and the people of the town, things get crazy for both of them. By the end of the book Piper is burdened with becoming the new White Raven. Can't wait to jump into the next book.
