Summary
It's past time for us to break down obstacles to success and education for people of color, to speak out against global social injustices, and to stop hiding behind the cliché, "I'm White, I can't speak out on the race". In our thoughts, acts, and words, we must be deliberately anti-racist. Someone who claims to be anti-racist may not laugh at a racist joke or remain silent when they hear a racist remark, but this does not make them anti-racist. One of the numerous issues with racism is that it manifests itself in a variety of ways. It has institutional and structural roots, is based on colonial history, and has been passed down through the generations like an unsightly relic. It's outspoken, red-faced, and enraged, and it's willing to assault you on the street. It's there in the absence of representation, in the "banter" and "harmless" comments, in the twitching fingers of White people who can't stop themselves from stroking Black people's hair. Racism is multifaceted and nuanced, and many people aren't even aware that they have racist attitudes.
In this audiobook, you will hear about critical race theory and racism as a problem of not being White, rejecting responsibility, and seldom admitting white privilege.

A Good Introduction To The Subject
The only other review of this essay which I've seen whines like a broken jet engine that, because it attempts to deconstruct and explain the issue of Racism, this essay itself is racist. But on the contrary though, as this essay explains in detail, far from 'Being Bad Because We're White,' the issue is that rich and powerful White, Anglo-Saxon and other Germanic Protestants literally invented the concept of 'Race' as we now understand it; including the labels of 'White' and 'Black' to serve their own agenda. Over the last 400 years, the rest of us have internalised those concepts to such an extent that we now regard them as 'Normal.' But as if to prove that it was only ever a self-serving social construct, as the majority's agenda has changed over the centuries, so have the definitions, stereotypes and labels used to dehumanise, demonise and oppress 'The Out Group' of the day.
Remember, Irish & Italian people literally weren't considered 'White' in the U.S. until it was politically expedient. The definition of 'White' in immigration and naturalisation cases (since only 'White' immigrants were allowed to become citizens required that the immigrant in question be Christian; specifically, Protestant. On top of which, far from being 'Obsessed With Race,' as this essay also explains, CRT recognises that oppression is intersectional. With a straight, white woman for example being a member of the privileged race and orientation, but also a member of the oppressed gender.
Of course, the entire reason why CRT was developed was to explain the fact that progress towards racial equality and civil rights has not only stalled for decades, but is now being actively dismantled. And the answer it's come up with is that too many white people fear that they have everything to lose and nothing to gain from creating a less oppressive and exploitative society. That having only ever worked to dismantle systemic racism because they benefited from doing so way back in the 50's & 60's, we can no longer wait and hope that enough white people will decide that tackling systemic racial bigotry in the Criminal Justice System, Healthcare, Housing, Education & Employment will benefit them as well.
But of course, since even the most hateful bigot knows that they can't get away with being blatantly racist anymore, like the reviewer above, they turn the tables, cry "Reverse Racism," demand that we stop talking about race and weaponize MLK's line about judging (white) people by the "Content Of Their Character." (I, e, demanding that we stop calling them racist 'Simply Because They're White.') -_-

Oh dear, the definition of racism
This book by definition is racist doctrine. It basically enforces that it’s good to be anti-racist, that is to say ‘it’s ok to be racist against whites’.
It teaches that if you are white, then you are a racist because you’re in a group, you’re no longer an individual.
It’s identifying all whites as a group acting together as racist rather than accepting that individuals might not be racist.
I’m shocked this racist book can be published. I’d dare to ask what the uproar would be if the book argued the same thing but instead of attacking whites as a group, it attacked blacks, or yellow or purple people as a group.
