Grace never imagined that cryptic letters—and her clever cat, Whiskers—would pull her into Maple Hollow’s darkest secrets.

Beneath the town’s peaceful exterior, an ancient experiment threatens to tear reality apart.

With Parker, a wounded but determined ally, and the mysterious Margaret, long thought dead, Grace must race against time. A dangerous force is buried deep, and ruthless enemies will stop at nothing to silence her.

In a final, pulse-pounding showdown, Grace must crack the letters’ hidden clues to prevent catastrophe. But even when the experiment is shut down, something far more sinister still stirs beneath Maple Hollow.

I liked this book. The suspense is high right up to the end. I liked how the case took new turns each time and a solution, an idea could be right or wrong, a trap or a way out. I liked how the fast-paced mystery became more and more interesting. My problem is the repeated exclamations, the same phrases in many situations.
The narrator is very good. She pauses or hurries up depending on the passage and expresses the emotions masterfully

Trap or way out!

A skillfully woven mystery with a formidable heroine, a lot of suspense, and the brave and adorable Whiskers. Terra Hicks does a good job narrating the book. I loved the preview of Murder in Whimsy Cafe!

A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.

A formidable heroine.
