Tough subjects, well written

Loved the book again, well drawn characters in some difficult situations, but still some romance underneath.

Special stories

This series touches your heart, the characters are so alive you can feel their emotions. I am all sure if there was a real Virgin River we would all want to live there. This series is exceptional!

Virgin River Series

I really like these books and Robyn Carr's style of writing. The narrator is terrific. In this book you see the story of Brea and Mike coming together and how they fit into the town of Virgin River along with all the folks you already know from reading the previous books.

I loved every minute of this story...

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely! It's interesting, the romance is very well developed. And the narrator does an amazing job in differentiating the characters and bringing life and feelings to the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mike was my favorite character. His story is te resting and you can see how he changes through the story.

Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite scene was when Brie came back to Virgin River to see Mike after her ex husband went to see her wanting to get back with her.

If you could take any character from Whispering Rock out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Mike the sexy Latin lover.

Any additional comments?

Great romantic story, and an even better narrator.

Robyn Carr is just a great storyteller

I love this writer. She writes for the modern reader but improves it! Her subjects are current and the interplay between all the characters is so believeable. I can't wait for all the Virgin River series to be available. This subject matter was harder for me to handle but Ms. Carr writes it tastefully as possible. Her characters have honor, caring. She is so worth reading. Don't miss out...Virgin River is still my favorite. But this author ties her books without boring you. Great Narrator..she gives such life to the characters. Thanks Audible for this author.

Not as good as the first two.

Two unrelated serial rape stories in the same book? Just too much. Also there was way too much going on between the pregnancies, the teenagers, the cancer, the ex-husband issue and people moving to town. Too many characters with too many storylines.

Meh

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

It's okay-ish. At some point the books become a little too predictable, which I guess is a plus for some, but I find it a little irritating. Maybe a little too saccharine and formulaic.

The sex scenes are embarrassingly bad -- and I find it weird that all the men so far use the same term of endearment -- "baby." Euw.

They've been pleasant easy summer reads, but I'm ready to move on now.

What could Robyn Carr have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

So far, all the women are small and the characteristics the men most respond to seem to be the smallness of each woman (her small tongue, her small hands, her small waist). C'mon. Can't they have other attractive qualities besides "small"?

I don't know that I'll continue any more in the series, but I'd like to see a larger woman find some love among the ex-Marines of Virgin River. Maybe it happens later, but I probably won't know

Which character – as performed by Therese Plummer – was your favorite?

I dunno. At some point all the male characters and all the female characters seem the same. I guess I like the Mel/Paige/Brie character. Therese Plummer did a good job, it's just that the characters all seemed alike.

Was Whispering Rock worth the listening time?

Sure. It was fun.

Another fantastic Robyn Carr book!

I was so excited to see this book added to Audible. It is the third in the series (please give us more!) The story of Mike and Brie was excellent. I loved hearing about all the other characeters we met in the earlier books. Emotions from happy, sad, anger, joy, all the changes that come in real life this book has it. It deals with very real issues that we see in the world today but told in a beautiful way. Love the narrator too. This is a MUST listen book!

Whispering Rock

I am in LOVE with this series!! I can’t tell you how much I love it. The small town the people. I can’t get enough. I love that we get everyone. Book 1 was Jack and Mel but we still get Jack and Mel, its just more focused on the current couple yes but we never feel like we are missing our favorites. Giggling Preacher was a peach in this book .. lmao I love it This book we get Mike and Bree. And a holy boat load of heavy issues. Sad but it happens all the time. Rape ... and the after math. This book didn't have rape in it for the shock value it was just a part of the storyline. I love how this book shows women raped and what she goes through but also teenagers who have to deal with the same issue and the aftermath they have to go through. But its more than that. It’s speaking up when you know something isn’t right and dealing with the fall out of those choices. This book really plucks at your heart strings, and yep bawl face over here soaked a few Kleenex’s I can’t help it just hit me in all the feels. I am jumping right in to book 4 I can’t help myself. I am addicted to Virgin River.
