Summary
You wake up to find the man beside you is dead. He is not your husband. This is not your bed.
Tara Logan adores her perfect little family: husband, Noah, and two children, teenager Rosie and 11-year-old Spencer. But her happiness is shattered when she wakes in her neighbour Lee Jacobs' bed, with no memory of how she got there or what happened between them. And worse - he has been stabbed to death.
Convinced she didn't kill Lee, Tara flees home and stays silent, holding her breath as the investigation grips the neighbourhood. But as her daughter spirals out of control and her husband becomes increasingly distant, Tara starts to wonder if someone in her own life knows what really happened that night. And when the police turn their questions towards her, Tara realises she has to find out.
But what will it take to uncover the real story, and can she survive the truth? A gripping, shocking psychological thriller, with a twist that will take you by surprise.

Very enjoyable and well read.
A well thought out and well read, I don't usually like female narrators but this one did all the voices, had good diction and sincerity in her voice.

While You Were Sleeping
Tara’s life is turned upside down when she wakes in her neighbour’s bed. The fact that he has been brutally stabbed to death makes matters worse and Tara does the only thing she can to protect her family; she runs. When the lies begin to flow, it’s hard to know who to trust but the desire to protect her family remains her priority.
Tara is a very ordinary woman with easily relatable conflict within her family but her daughter Rosie’s antics threw me off the scent every time. This thriller tricked me by constantly making me think I could solve the mystery only to dash my hopes and produce new or conflicting evidence. The brilliance of bringing a new suspect into the light at intervals kept the story fresh and interesting. Croft has a unique style, and I found it refreshing.

kept me gripped from the beginning
I really enjoyed this book and found the character somewhat chav but even so I enjoyed the mystery. I think the end was slightly rushed but all in Alli found this book most enjoyable

Light read
Interesting at first, boring and repetitive after the first half. Still wanted to finish it!

Sorry but disappointing
This was good enough to accompany a long walk but I wouldn't have listened to the end if I hadn't been out. I did not warm to any of the characters and was frankly indifferent to which one of them did the murder. I found the main character rather annoying which didn't help. Her main strength seemed to be denial about the sorry state of her family and the ability to justify to herself taking the path of least resistance at every turn. We are all flawed but such a weak, self-serving character doesn't necessarily make a good centre point for a story such as this. Maybe my expectations were too high but I won't rush to this author again in a competitive genre.

Amazing narrator
The narrator plays a pivotal part in the success of this book. She makes all of the characters so realistic which is key when listening to an audiobook. There were no parts of the story which made me loose interest and there are no spoiler or hints as to who has commuted the crime which kept me interested...you will assume you know who it is, and along with everyone else you will be wrong!

Compulsive reading
Found it hard to put this down, a box full of deceit with lots of twists and an unexpected ending. Recommended

No-rrator
Storyline OK besides the causal sexism but narrator has the same style for all characters and they lose any distinction. Really not great
