Read by the author, Sandra Brown.

‘Completely gripping . . . Sandra Brown found evil in the person of her own father; and she confronted it as few could have done . . . Everyone will want to read this amazing story’ – Andrew O’Hagan, author of Caledonian Road

Sandra Brown was eight when her friend and neighbour, twelve-year-old Moira Anderson, disappeared from the small town of Coatbridge near Glasgow in 1957. Moira has not been seen since.

Twenty-seven years later, at a family funeral, Sandra’s estranged father confessed to her that he had been involved in the girl’s disappearance. Appalled by his curious half confession, Sandra began to delve into the case and in so doing discovered that her father was a child molester whose activities were known not just to everyone in Coatbridge, but also to the police.

The horrifying jigsaw she pieced together, along with the admission her father had made, ultimately convinced Sandra that he had been responsible for Moira’s death nearly fifty years ago. Where There Is Evil is the remarkable story of Sandra’s quest to unravel the mystery and see justice done.

‘Inspirational . . . This book is not only important but unique’ – Jimmy Boyle

As I was utterly gripped by recently hearing podcast COATBRIDGE: The Disappearance of Moira Anderson I pounced on this new release - it brings author's original book bang up to date. What makes this an eye-opener of a listen though is a true life story you won't forget- delivered with resilience and hope in a highly professional production- by a narrator you will never forget either. To all who've put this audiobook together: Top Notch!!

This is such a compelling telling of this true story. The authors narration of the events up to and following the disappearance of Moira had me spellbound. Highly recommended.

There is, above all, the sadness at the root and the too familiar unwillingness for those with knowledge of the criminals and failure of the legal system in too many areas...but the author has told this sad and frustrating history in a multi layered, deeply engaging way at a level few authors find a way to.
The bravery and determination along with huge personal sacrifices places her into the hero category....thanks for sharing your story

A masterpiece in writing and an amazing author

Firstly, I've already read the original paperback book by Sandra and I'm very familiar with Moiras story. But I've really enjoyed the updated version because I decided to try audio for the first time.I Wasn't disappointed, only Sandra Brown can narrate this part of her life in her very own authentic style. The real, raw and emotional journey came to life for me. A real roller-coaster of really disturbing events...with Hope at the forefront,. Hope that Moira is finally found and brought home to her family. Truly inspirational ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
