Summary

Self-Regulation Skills, Series 6

Life doesn't always go as planned. Sometimes we fail and feel frustrated.

Use this book to start a discussion about frustration, anger, and patience. It teaches young kids simple coping strategies. There is a great message, and it explains anger management and frustration by way of a nice rhyming story. The story is not too long but will grab kids' attention.

This story will:

  • Explain that frustration itself is normal - and in fact necessary to learn and grow
  • Help children learn how to become more resilient
  • Help kids develop coping strategies to manage frustration and anger
  • Teach that feeling upset is not a reason to give up

Meh...

Narration was not great. Three very short stories of a little boy getting frustrated when attempting to put on his coat, losing a race and climbing a wall at the park. In theory, these stories should help children learn how to act when frustrated. My 5 year old and I both seemed to miss the part where we felt like it "taught" us how to act.
