The end makes this book worth a listen.

We Were Liars is an interesting story and the narrator's voice works well.

I was confused with the first third of the book, as I never connected enough with the characters individually, they all just became part of the backdrop. I don't think I even new the main character well.

Whether or not this was purposeful with an unreliable protagonist I don't know, because at the end I was able to understand the distance between myself, the protagonist and the other characters. However, I think this could have been achieved even if I had cared about the characters more.

Still, it was a good listen, even though I nearly abandoned it many times, I'm glad I didn't.

what a bore

What would have made We Were Liars better?

cutting 5 of the 6 and 1/2 hours

What was most disappointing about E. Lockhart’s story?

nothing really happened until the last 30 minutes
this is an excellent example of pointless narration about scenes that make no difference to the story whatsoever. Whoever did the editing on this needs to read the dictionary definition of what an editor should do.

Did Ariadne Meyers do a good job differentiating each of the characters? How?

ish

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from We Were Liars?

every one except the first and last, then it would have been great!

Any additional comments?

I think you get the idea!

Great story with amazing writing

I loved this book soooooooo much. E.lockhart is a fantastic writer. I definitely recommend this book and you can get the most out of it by going in to it not knowing much about the story. The narrator was okay but some of the voices for the characters were not that amazing. Overall I really recommend this wonderful mysterious book

You want a plot twist? Then this is for you

This was a great book, a very easy read and something which you don't just forget. The ending, though tragic, is amazing and completely unexpected. Well worth a read

A good story but a bit of an obvious plot twist

The story is interesting and you start to understand and appreciate the characters. A good look at the selfishness and greed that the wealthy suffer from, and ultimately the hurt and devastation that it can cause. It addressed racial issues and ultimately reminded you that love and family are much more important than money and material things, however you could see the twist coming a mile off. Still it was enjoyable and thought provoking. It was also read very well.
