From USA Today bestselling author A. R. Shaw.

The country is coming apart.

Dane Talbot has a list.

As civil unrest spreads and the rule of law weakens, Dane finally has the opportunity to confront the people who escaped justice—and those who made her who she is.

One by one, she begins crossing off their names.

But revenge is rarely as clean as it seems. When Dane moves against her next target, the unthinkable happens, and her carefully laid plans begin to unravel.

Now she must decide how far she is willing to go—and whether killing a killer makes her any different from the people she hunts.

Wayward State is the gripping second book in the Remember the Ruin trilogy, a near-future dystopian thriller filled with civil unrest, domestic terror, vigilante justice, and one determined woman who refuses to let the guilty walk free.

Continue Dane Talbot’s journey today.

Wayward State continues the story of Danes's quest for revenge on the man who raped her the night her father died, but Matthew has returned to the smoke jumpers not feeling that it is right to follow Dr on her quest as the first burn.
Again revealing the story with alternating chapters on Matthew and Dane, some painful scenes are shown in these horrible times.

Brian Callovan again narrates. To be able to perform this book convincingly, the narrator had to have a good range of believable character voices and this Brian Callanon most certainly has, together with good modulation and timing sense, fitting with the nature of the writing.

Perhaps not as engrossing as book one, Rebel Blaze, but still worth reading. Quick, easy and recommended

A really great story, just as good as the first book with believable encounters and timelines with great characters to boot!
Everything you look for in an apocalyptic tale!
Great narration which perfectly suits the pacing of the story with really good voices too!
This is my honest opinion on a free review copy.

A great end of the world story!
