3.5 stars. I liked this a lot. I did get thrown off every time the MMCs name was said (its Byzantine) I went in blind and was expecting darker. It is dark just not the dark i was expecting. Will read more from this author for sure.

the female narrator overact / pronateds sometimes it was a little exhausting listening to her. its a far cry from "drak" romance.

I really wanted to love this book, I really did , I knew the mental health themes in it and got comfortable by the the promised HEA. unfortunately the book fell flat for me after the 50% mark. I enjoyed the stalking and the idea of star crossed lovers. the narrators were brilliant. I felt this ended on a HFN and I am not convinced the couple will make it to HEA because the issues they had were too deep & I don't think they were resolved in the book. I have to say though that this author was very sensitive in tackling the difficult subjects of grief & mental health.
