Summary
Nicht der Philosoph und der professionelle Geschichtsbeflissene allein sollten sich fragen, welches Verhältnis sie eigentlich zur Geschichte, zum geschichtlich Gewordenen haben, und was das für ihr Leben bedeutet. Wir alle sind von Geschichte umgeben und müssen uns doch wohl mit ihr auseinandersetzen, wenn wir nicht bloß dahinvegetieren wollen. Oder könnte es sein, dass wir der "historischen Bildung" eine viel zu große Bedeutung beimessen? Ist ein Übermaß an Historie unter Umständen sogar schädlich?
Vielleicht sollte man den Text ein zweites und drittes Mal hören, um nicht nur die gedankliche und sprachliche Brillanz Nietzsches, seine Ironie, seine Polemik und sein Pathos zu genießen, sondern sich der Frage zu stellen, was von seinen Aussagen für unsere Zeit und unsere Zukunft Gültigkeit hat.
