Summary

This is the complete set of the Vemreaux Trilogy, including The Way, The Truth, and The Lie.

In a world not divided by race, creed, or color but by blood type, Blue Anders finds herself on the wrong end of fortune's mercy. Born with a lesser blood type, Blue is raised in The Way, a work camp for A-bloods.

NO! Whine Whine

What made the experience of listening to Volumes of the Vemreaux Complete Collection the most enjoyable?

The great story line.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked that it was a sort of Vampire theme but it didn't dwell on the blood sucking...well actually there is no blood sucking...you need to listen to the books to find out what they do instead. I also like Dystopian story lines

Which character – as performed by Madeline Mrozek – was your favourite?

I liked Blue. She whined a lot and shouted No! at the drop of a hat but that wasn't the readers fault

Any additional comments?

At times I wanted to give Blue a good shake.
The third book dwelt on the family relationship instead of getting on with the story. If I was reading the book I would have been flicking through parts of this.

Religious overtones and emotionalally damaged protagonist

I liked this book enough to read it through and give it four stars, but got tired of the long road to good mental health Blue, whose story this is, needed. Yes, that's realistic, but painful to read. Additionally, I wish I had known Ms. Toomey wrote for a Christian audience. Nevertheless, the story line is a good one and by the time the e d comes the happily ever after is satisfying.

Great Dystopian Trilogy for the Money

Any additional comments?

This was a great trilogy. The characters had great personalities and were performed well. The story was different, which I really liked. I would recommend this to anyone who likes dystopian society books.

AMAZING NARRATION! Great story

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Blue. She was funny and awkward. She was great. Her character really added to the story. I Know this is a book about her and her crazy life but not completely. It's a great book about all of them.

Have you listened to any of Madeline Mrozek’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have never listen to Madeline Mrozek's performances before. I was actually disappointed that she didn't have any more titles that were appealing. SHE IS AMAZING! This book benefited from a talented person like Madeline. The book was strong and original but the narration added the cherry and sprinkles to the top of the cake.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I am not good with tag lines. However, if it was made into a movie I would watch it!

Any additional comments?

The first story was hard to complete. I got better about 3/4 of the way. STICK WITH IT... you will be rewarded with a fantastic and original story. Loved this trilogy and really sad to say good bye.

Great Value: Hours per Credit

This is an acceptable buy, providing a lot of listening for the single credit. You'll want that, because by the third book you will have the speed cranked up. By the end, I was listening at 2x speed.

Why? Because "Blue" is so darn whiny. The second and third books lose a lot of action, focusing more and more on the family dynamic. Problem is, the hero ("Blue") just keeps doing the same thing over and over. There's lots of whining and crying, with little character development.

Worth buying, but be ready to turn up the listening speed.

Excellent story. Well-rounded characters.

I had a bit of a hard time following, to begin with. Once the futuristic world was set in my mind, though, I didn't want to stop listening. I will be passing this along to my teenage daughter next, for a listen. I just know she will enjoy it, too.

love this author

I have read two other series by this author. I listened to this story while I worked. I would not recommend this, since most of the story I was crying like a baby.

The world after WWIII and the need for a savior

The change to one United Kingdom with a king as a ruler, but division by blood types are the main characteristics of the society that you are introduced into. The Americans use those of A type blood as their slaves and those that carry the menial jobs out.
Bear and Blue have been brought up in the Way, where the A blood people are worked and held, until the purchase as a bonded servant. Blue is the answer to a prophecy, that would rid the world of a monster that was killing off the Superior classed beings. Can this mere slip of a girl be the redeemer they all needed??
Interesting story line that gradually unfolds, filling the readers knowledge in, in the midst of unraveling the story.
