About this listen

She didn’t grow up with a voice. But she made sure her children did.

Leah was raised in a home ruled by silence, fear, and expectations. As a child, she learned to stay small, quiet, and obedient—never questioning, never resisting. But when she became a mother, she knew something had to change.

In Voices: Respectful but Unafraid, Leah reflects on her journey of raising three children—Mateo, Lila, and Maya—with intention, love, and a commitment to break the generational cycles she grew up in. Through moments of tenderness, conflict, vulnerability, and growth, Leah learns how to give her children what she never had: the freedom to speak, to feel, and to become.

This emotionally resonant novel—rooted in truth and told with raw honesty—offers a moving portrait of motherhood, healing, and the quiet revolution that happens when a woman chooses to raise her children differently.

For anyone who’s ever longed to rewrite their story—this book is for you.

I listened to Voices: Respectful but Unafraid in one sitting, and it stayed with me long after it ended. The story moves with a quiet intensity, following Leah as she breaks away from the silence and fear she grew up in. The narration carries her emotions gently—never hurried, never exaggerated—which makes those little moments of courage even stronger. What really impressed me was how real the parenting scenes felt: imperfect, loving, full of effort. Hearing Leah try to give her children the freedom she never had made the whole journey painful and hopeful all at once. It's a short listen, but it's packed with sincerity, and I finished it feeling more reflective and grounded. A touching choice for anyone who loves to listen to stories about healing, motherhood, and finding your own voice.

Good book and very entertaining, this about of a mother that raised her kids and break the cycle. She tried to avoid to teach them how she was afraid and how she was raised in that way. The audio and narrator is high quality and easy to follow.

This book shows how times have changed: in the past, children were seen, not heard, while now we want them to set their own journey while remaining respectful. The transition this mother made to provide her children with the tools they needed to succeed in today's digital and social environment was remarkable to hear.

This story is a beautiful and deeply moving look at how one woman consciously chose to heal her own past by giving her kids something she never had. Listening to her navigate the challenges of motherhood while actively breaking cycles of silence and fear felt incredibly real and inspiring. It’s a genuinely honest and tender portrait of finding your own voice and, most importantly, making sure your children can use theirs. Anyone interested in generational healing and intentional parenting will find a lot to connect with here.
