Variable Overall but a Couple of Real Gems!

I've had this for ages, I was put off by the first one or two episodes that I listened too and it languished for a long time in my library until I recalled it recently. This covers a very broad spectrum of topics so I suspect most will find some they like and some they could do without. The one that really stood out for me was 'Ice on the Ropes', a brief recollection of a young man's life working boats on the river Thames. That really struck an atmospheric chord with me.

Some, like the food story 'The Still Life' just left me cold but tastes will vary due to the diversity of what's on offer. I'd say I thought that there were only a couple of real gems here and in truth with the ambition of having such a stylistically and topically diverse set of stories most people are going to find their interest levels vary by episode.

It was well worth listening to for the gems and the okay episodes and as my recent corporate diversity training taught me it's important to get out of my own personal 'echo chamber' and listen to diverse opinions so it was also good for me :-)

original and captivating

this was a great listen. Great variety of stories from different people and beautifully edited to present them. I really enjoyed this podcast and would recommend it to people who are interested in people.
