Would you believe it took nearly 500 years to translate the ESV (English Standard Version) Bible? That's because the ESV builds on the great translations of the past - including William Tyndale's New Testament of 1526 and the King James Version (KJV) of 1611. But the ESV Bible also builds on the best Christian scholarship of the last 100 years.

Top quality, great narration!!
This is a beautiful rendition of the NKJV Bible, my favourite translation. Simon Bubb speaks in a perfect British accent; I like his respectful unrushed pace; I'm pleased with this long awaited release.
PROBLEM:
There's a error in the newly released Bible. Genesis chapter 19 verse 5 bizarrely jumps to a passage from the 49th chapter. Please correct this, please inform Thomas Nelson.
Five stars all round removed until corrected.

This Audio Bible is the best available
This opinion is based on the clear and interesting voice narration. With the exception of the Revised Geneva Translation (New Testament only) newly released, which I have to say is fantastic and number one for listening quality, this Audio Bible is the best available - and I have listened to most out there.
I remain engaged with the reading. My own listening concentration level is not great so to find a narrator to keep me focused was a good discovery.

Soooo MUCH Better! Finally! Thank you! Big improvement- but still needs more work
I have searched and searched for days and even with 2 audible techs who were so kind to help, hunted through all the audible Bibles voice only and dramatized or music background. Everyone we tried we found only listed Chapter 1 to up to 900?? So if you are looking for The book of John, your guess is as good as anyone’s! Maybe chapter 500? Who knows? If you want Psalm 23 I have no idea how to find Psalms! This is brand new today that just popped up. I read the one review from England, and He mentioned the wonderful British accent- which is awesome to me because I love the Brit accents, and He said he’s not racing through it! Praise God he’s not! I love that! You can get a novel and they don’t rush read through them so why do the narrators always rush through the Bible? Plus so full, or harsh or monotone or bass. Not just a normal nice voice.
This guy has it down good!
The improvement over any other Bible is, - it might say “Part 2” for example. But the Narrator tells you the book of Exodus. So I can at least write down a table of contents at least and know that say “part 1 is Psalms! And over a fair bit of time, I’ll remember what part is 1 Samuel. At least that’s an improvement from just chapter 1 to a million!
But still, what’s so hard about showing us the actual names of the books? And and if it’s Matthew, put Matthew chapter 5? What’s so hard about that? PLEASE BIBLE PUBLISHERS! FIX THIS BIG ISSUE YET SMALL THING TO FIX!!!

NO TABLE OF CONTENTS...EXTREMELY CUMBERSOME
UPDATE 10/23/20... NEW TESTAMENT PORTION OF PRODUCT IS MISSING....... Great version. ORGANIZATION FRANKLY STINKS with NO REAL Index OR TABLE 8F CONTENTS .....User has to scroll through the ENTIRE BIBLE (and recently the fully downloaded version will NOT SHOW THE NEW TESTAMENT) to get to a particular chapter. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THAT AND THOMAS NELSON OWES PURCHASERS A NEW VERSION THAT HAS A REAL "CLICKABLE" TABLE OC CONTENTS. Even "cheap" Bible apps have a Table of Contents where user can easily skip between Od and New Testament and between books WITHOUT HAVING TO SCROLL THROUGH THE ENTIRE BIBLE..... THUMAS NELSON YOU ARE MORE PROFESSIONAL THAN THIS. THOUGH I really like the Simon Bubb narration had I know this version was so cumbersome to navigate I would hae chosen a different product.

Outstanding Reading!
A thoughtful narration, read slowly enough to think about what is being said. Read without distraction, in other words, Simon Bubb doesn't sound like he's trying to act, but simply give a sincere, thoughtful reading of the bible. therefore my mind was on the content and not distracted by the reader! Brilliantly done!
