Do you think in pictures, patterns or words?

In a world engineered for the verbal thinker, those of us with a visual brain can often be overlooked and underestimated. In this landmark book, international bestselling author and activist Temple Grandin transforms our understanding of how our brains are wired differently.

Bringing together cutting-edge research and her own experience as a visual thinker, Grandin reveals a ground-breaking new approach to revolutionizing modern structures such as education, health and media so that they equally serve people with all kinds of minds. Temple Grandin has put together an excellent book on the benefits of acknowledging and nurturing visual thinkers for the improvement and growth of our societies.

I gave this book 4 stars as, while the story and narration were excellent, the message alas spanned for longer than needed in my opinion.

Very Good 👍

communicates a very important message for the future structure of career paths and education. People tend to generalise and assume everyone, everywhere thinks, learns and experiences the world in the same way. this is not so, and its important that education programs are geared towards producing results and necessary building blocks to career success. brilliant book, one of her best!

I found this book very interesting! Listening about how a visual mind works has made me realise that I am pretty bad at thinking in pictures. Which is self-knowledge that is very useful to have since it will affect how I understand and communicate with others in my work.

Super interesting!

As a neurodiverse person and practitioner I found this book revolutionary. It has made a profound difference to the way I see myself and greatly helps me with my children and in my work. Everyone should know about this book, for in this way we may not only understand each other but also, as a team of human beings, create a more functional, emotionally intelligent, empathic, and practically sustainable world. The research is extensive and in itself revelatory. The insight to animals moving and significant. Temple Grandin, I applaud you. Your courage, your tenacity, your genius. Thank you.

This book should be read by every type of thinker.
