Would you listen to Visions of Jesus and the Saints: The Mystic Knowledge Series again? Why?
I would listen to this book 100 more times. Barbara's narration voice captures the essence of Marilynn's prose. One is taken on a journey as one listens to 'Visions of Jesus and the Saints.' Many times while listening to this, I found myself vicariously experiencing some of Marilynn's experiences.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jesus was my favorite character because anytime he spoke to Marilynn, it seemed like he was also speaking to me.
Have you listened to any of Barbara H. Scott’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, this is my first time listening to Barbara H. Scott, but I plan on listening to her again, she is really good at capturing the overall tone and 'vibe' of the book. Also on a side note, her name is awesome!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Anytime Jesus or the Holy Family made an appearance was
Any additional comments?
I really enjoy what Jeff Bezos is doing here with Audible and Amazon. To me this is a fantastic company that always produces what people are always going to need... that really is part of the 'secret sauce'. I especially enjoy Audible books and the concept of Whisper Sync because I am constantly reading and studying. When I am not able to read, there is Audible, when I want to get to sleep, I turn on Audible narrated books, when I'm driving, exercising, etc. there is Audible. I mentioned that I like the concept of WhisperSync as I've only read about it and I do not yet have a Kindle on which to try it out. I am excited about the direction of Kindle's and Audible in general and I can't wait to start listening to more narrated books written by one of my favorite authors, Marilynn Hughes.
