Summary

When the recently widowed Melinda Monroe sees an ad she quickly decides that the remote mountain town of Virgin River might be the perfect place to escape her heartache and to re-energize the nursing career she loves.

But her high hopes are dashed within an hour of arriving: the cabin is a dump, the roads are treacherous, and the local doctor wants nothing to do with her. Realizing she's made a huge mistake, Mel decides to leave town the following morning. But a tiny baby, abandoned on a front porch, changes her plans... and a former marine cements them into place.

The start of the story ...

I have read all of Robyn Carr’s Virgin River books and now have decided to download the audio books as well. I’m so glad I have. The narrator is excellent and listening added to bits to the story I had not taken in when I read the book. Highly recommended.

Good - but not everyone’s cup of tea

I enjoyed listening to this but it’s very different to my normal read. It’s a book that seems very much part of a series where you get to know the characters in a small town and follow how relationships develop. Nothing too dramatic, just a nice story and a window into another world.

beautiful story

10 out of 10 for the performance. .simply because she didn't attempt to masculine her voice. And she has a beautiful reading time.

I was reading this book as well as listening and can very much recommend either or both. really a very lovely story.
