I loved this story, but it was let down a little by the production. The music and atmosphere was great and really enhanced both the gothic and romantic elements. The trouble I had was with the narrators. Some overacted their parts, while others were monotone or appeared out of breath throughout. Maybe go for a full unabridged reading instead.

BBC simply knows how to put together a great cast, engaging music and an enchanting result. I cannot recommend the actual book itself or this audiobook enough. I did it in one sitting and that speaks volumes itself.

Unfortunately even though the dramatization was top notch , the story of Vilette was not very engaging for me . I listen quite often to Jane Eyre however I feel that it will be a very long time before I can listen to Vilette again .
