Viking Slave is book one in the thrilling Dragonheart series. A gripping tale filled with action and adventure set in the early years of the ninth century.

A young Saxon boy and his mother are captured in a Viking raid. Fate transforms his destiny and, thanks to an ageing one-armed warrior, he wins his freedom and becomes one with the Vikings. Clan rivalries force Dragonheart and his new Jarl to sail the seas searching for a new home. Landing on the Isle of Man they must fight for their very survival with enemies old and new seeking their destruction.©2013 Griff Hosker (P)2022 W. F. A very enjoyable Viking tale. I always enjoy Griff Hosker's books and this was no exception.

I was rather fascinated, but a bit irritated with the end! It felt uncllosed. I do not like books that lack closure.

The story

I really loved this book. It’s my first Griff Hosker Dark Ages Series and first book by him that I have Listened / Read. As mentioned in a previous review, it is very addictive and hard to put down. The Characters are very realistic and I could really imagine how they lived in those times over a thousand years ago. Expertly researched, I have been reading/ Listening to History of the Norsemen. I,cannot wait to Listen to the next in the series. I think that Griff Hosker will be up there with SJA Turney, Bernard Cornwell and Simon Scarrow to mention a few of my favorite Historical Fiction Authors.
Highly Recommended.
