Listening to this while laid up in bed with flu. Richard Burnip must surely be one of the very best audiobook narrators ever! A joy to listen to. I know voice actors are supposed to be able to do this but his ability to change his voice for different characters is uncanny. Suddenly you’re hearing movie stars…the eccentric pathologist is Alec Guinness. The caddish aristocrat is James Mason.
Very well produced but the chapter numbers in the app do not match those in the text.

Beautifully written with humour and bags of background research. Superb narration.

Sadly, this should have been an entertaining listen but totally ruined by the authors needs to use too many extremely long words. I completely lost the flow and understanding of the story due to referring to a dictionary too frequently to look up ridiculous words used. The author should have used “Perspicacity” when writing such useless words!! They really didn’t add anything other than complementing the many boring sections also detailed. I managed to get to the end as I hate not finishing any books, but that’s time I’ll never get back.

A great listen if you read a Thesaurus with your tea.

Would you try another book written by Frank Tallis or narrated by Richard Burnip?

Not for some time,

What was most disappointing about Frank Tallis’s story?

i could not get past the first few "pages" , no matter how hard i tried,

How could the performance have been better?

the performance was ok,

Any additional comments?

i listened to the first book in the series, liked it and hoped the second one would be even better. Unfortunately, it was not.Different story lines were unrelated and crime descriptions were violent and too detailed...

Dissapointed
