Summary
Victory Girls is the sixth poignant saga in Helen Carey's much-loved Lavender Road series, set in south London during the Second World War. Not to be missed by fans of Katie Flynn, Annie Murray and Lilian Harry.
August 1944. Allied troops are fighting their way across Europe. But rocket attacks on London are a chilling reminder that the war is far from over. Helen knows all too well how dangerous it is in war-torn France. But it's a long time since she heard from her French fiancé, Andre, and nothing is going to stop her going back to track him down before he is lost to her forever.
Her friend Molly is finding it hard to stop thinking about the lovely Canadian pilot she met while nursing overseas and the future she might have had if only she had been good enough for him. Now Molly is back in London, determined to discover the truth about the mother who gave her up for adoption when she was four years old.
Victory may be just round the corner, but the fighting is far from over for the women of Lavender Road.

The Last in the Lavender Road Series
I finished the last 2 chapters in the early hours of this morning. An excellent end to the best book series I have ever read. I feel bereft. These characters have been with me for 3 1/2 months and now they’re gone and I don’t know what to do with myself. If you don’t read anything else all year read the Lavender Road series. You’ll love it!!
Thank you Annie Aldington for the narration. You are absolutely the best!!!

Sensational
What a sensational writer and story.I say story but it felt as though I was living through it. I imagine this was what it was like to live through the war. I wasn't quite old enough and glad of it ,but I feel I have now.
I love all the characters and I want to know what happens next. Does Molly find her dad ,does George get to the academy? What !!!! All the characters were so easily recognisable, by Annie's superb accents and inflections, they came alive. Well done Annie. Well done Helen 👏 ✔ 👍

Fantastic
I've just completed the 6th book in the Lavender Road series and I'm actually quite upset as I want it to go on and on and on. Coming from Clapham myself it reminded me of all the stories my mum told me about her time during the 2nd WW. Helen Carey captures you from the very start in Lavender road and has you hooked until the last in Victory Girls. Surely theres more to come ??? Gino and Angela's story and there gelato? Molly and Callum?
Helene and Andre? or even little George who is brilliant !!! Thank you Helen and Annie for your company over the last couple of weeks... Superb.
