I enjoyed this up until the last half hour where it went a bit silly. A good idea, but my response af the end of the book was "meh".

Set over the Christmas period, this book is dark as hell and oh so brutal, gruesome and totally psychotic, but with loads of humour. Governess Winifred Notty is a character I m unlikely to forget! She's certainly no Mary Poppins! It is totally original and gripping. but not for the faint hearted!

Anna Burnett's narration is spot on.
