Can be listened to as a stand-alone novel or as part of The Westford Chronicles Trilogy.

The Priory was only the beginning. A new terror has arrived...Jacob and his two young sons see something fall from the sky. Moments later, they are attacked. Nancy, a hard-partying drop-out, feels something inside her ear, and not just the ringing of music from the party last night.

Trapped together in an old, derelict hospital, a stranger knocks on their door. A stranger who knows more than he lets on, and has a shocking story to tell.

Underneath Westford are tunnels, tunnels that go deep into the earth and lead to strange places.

With food and water running low and the creatures still outside, will they trust the stranger and stop the destruction of Westford, and the world as we know it?

A true pause-resister in every sense of the word, Vermin is the incredible stand-alone novel and the second part of The Westford Chronicles from the hot new horror writer, Jonathan Wheatley.

If you loved James Herbert's The Rats Trilogy and Critters, you'll love this book....

I really enjoyed the first audiobook (The Priory) so was keen to listen to the next episode in the Westford Chronicles. Vermin is still an engaging and entertaining listen, but not quite as strong as The Priory. This audiobook is definitely worth a listen, but I didn’t find the story or characters as captivating as the first book in the series. Nigel Peever remains consistent with his performance as narrator, with a clear narrative and outstanding characterisation & sound effects. I do look forward to Book 3 and definitely recommend the Westford Chronicles as an entertaining listen for anybody interested in the supernatural/science fiction genres.

I really enjoyed The first book The Priory, so was eager to listen to this next part of the Westford Chronicles. Vermin is an excellent listen, but not quite as good as The Priory, IMPO . It didn't grab my attention as much. Definitely worth a listen, . Nigel Peever's narration was excellent with good sound effects. I look forward to Book 3 and would recommend the Westford Chronicles as an entertaining listen for anybody interested in the genre.
I was kindly given a copy of the book by the narrator and leave this honest review.

A wonderful homage to The Rats trilogy by James Herbert and the Critters movie franchise. I particularly liked the "side deaths" which don't move the plot forward but does enhance the horror surrounding it (very "Herbertesque"). Although it states that this book can be read/listened to as a stand-alone novel you will get so much more from it if you're familiar with The Priory as we catch up with several key characters from the first book. Wheatley has expanded his Universe dramatically with Vermin opening up a myriad of possibilities for future novels. There are certainly a few things revealed with little or no explanation which are likely catalysts or critical in future novels.

Nigel Peever once again knocks it for six with his immersive performance. You know you will never be disappointed with his narration.
