Summary

Once upon a time there were seven very different women who had been broken but not beaten by life. In those tough days of healing, they became the Sisterhood, a group of devoted friends who vowed to change their lives, empower themselves, and be there for each other, no matter what. Now, they're ready to answer the call for the woman who started it all, Myra Rutledge.

Five years ago, Myra's pregnant daughter was killed by a hit-and-run driver - the playboy son of an ambassador with diplomatic immunity. Myra was left to grieve while the murderer was free to return to his lavish lifestyle with no fear of ever having to pay for his crime. But not for much longer.

As the air turns crisp in the Virginia hills around Myra's lovely old farmhouse, the Sisterhood has gathered for a little creative planning, and what they have in mind is a gift for Myra of long-awaited and very sweet revenge...

Wonderful

While the action is as fast-paced as ever in a Sisterhood story, this particular story is also packed with strong emotions that evoke echoes in the reader as she gets immersed in the case and connects with Myra and the Sisters. A wonderfully written story.

some problems

I had high hopes for this series. I rather like the women, but besides the fact that they are all gorgeous and so well educated in their field the ideas are getting a bit close to the jump the shark phase. First of all, I don't like that Myra sounds more like an 80 year old rather than the 60+ year old she is supposed to be. I'm also having trouble with Jack being such a boy scout cop, and yet he breaks and enters with abandon. Trying to decide whether to give it one more go or return the rest in the series...

Revenge Tastes so Sweet!

Where does Vendetta rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Number 2. The number 1 spot would be the first Eve Plum Novel in the series.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Vendetta?

The basement scene when Myra was telling the murderer off and then she told him what he could and could not expect to happen next.

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene in which Myra was speaking to her dead daughter`s ghost.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Charles told his wife all systems were go. They completed the mIission and were waiting on her to do her part.

Any additional comments?

I am a great fan of Fern Michaels and I love the Sisterhood Novels. I realized I had already read the Vendetta when I first got into the first chapter. That is when I discovered I wish I had gotten it and the rest on CD format instead of download them on this Laptop. I wish the same for the Bible series I have gotten from Audible. I am having problems getting them to play. When I finally get them to play I have to stay with it untill that one is finished. Both because I am enjoying it/them and because I am afraid I wont be able to get it/them to play again. I am so glad I have joined Audible!

Another Winner!

Vendetta: Revenge of the Sisterhood #3 by Fern Michaels, narrated by Laural Merlington is another winner in this highly rated series! I am 100% hooked, engaged, and completely into the planning, process, and outcome of each woman's story. The series follows a group of women who have gone from mostly strangers to a close-knit, loving, and caring family. How? By working toward a common goal...seeking revenge on those who have taken away the happy lives they once led. Complete with unlimited funding, high-level resources, world travel, and plans to out-smart the cops, each book focuses on a different character's story from start to finish. As the group of women work together to ensure a successful follow-through of each case, I cannot help but root them on! Because the personality, background, motive, and personal story of each woman is unique to the others, all readers will find this series appealing. I feel like I know the characters on a personal level, and I even feel like I am part of their team! Not only have I developed an understanding for why these women want revenge, but I can also see why it is absolutely necessary for them to make peace with each situation before moving on with the rest of their lives. The bond they have developed is one that will last a lifetime, one that only the truest of sisters understand. :-) Laural Merlington is the narrator of the Revenge of the Sisterhood series. Although I felt she did an awesome job in books 1 & 2, and I gave her a very deserving 5-stars, it didn't fully click in my mind until book 3 that this is really only one single person I'm hearing! I am amazed at her flawless ability to play SO MANY different characters, complete with their own voice, tone, accent...males and females...all within the same scene! I'm sure this book is good to read, but Laural Merlington's performance turns this entire series into a must-listen! I cannot find even one thing to criticize. She is award-winning amazing, and definitely one of the best narrators I've ever listened to! Vendetta: Revenge of the Sisterhood #3 by Fern Michaels, narrated by Laural Merlington deserves 5 out of 5 stars across the board. There is no doubt in my mind that you will enjoy this series!! I recommend you start at the beginning with book 1, so you can see how and why the group formed orignally. You will also be introduced to the characters and everyone that is involved in the planning and execution of each woman's revenge, along with the decision process of how the group chooses whose revenge is up next! You will adore these women and be inspired by what they each bring to the table. You will laugh with them, feel their pain, and rejoice in their success. You will see a bit of yourself in each of them and use their strength and individual talents to help you see and find your own. Most rewarding, though, will be the feeling you have as you become part of one another's lives, sharing in the wonderful, unbreakable sisterhood bond you have all formed together! Enjoy! Thank you for reading my review. I hope it was helpful. :-) #DeepFriendship #FeelGood #VirginiaHills #tagsgiving #sweepstakes #revenge #sisterhood #engaging #series #PastMeetsPresent #empowerment #WomensFiction #UnbreakableBond #family #crime

disappointing

As a long time fan of Fern Michaels, I really was so disappointed. All of these acts of revenge were so anticlimactic, churlish, and unnecessary. Sometimes one really needs to strike back, but these women need to embrace their lives and not their hatred. I look forward to a better book from this wonderful author. The narration was good!

Love the sisterhood books. I did not care for the punishment inflicted in this one, but still enjoyed the story. Looking forward to book 4!
