In order for Harlow to clear her own name, she has to figure out the murder mystery in reverse - all before the authorities arrest her for a crime she didn't commit. Assuming the sword doesn't kill her first.

Brilliant writing
I really like Melissa’s ability to create characters that you quickly come to know and like. I also love the humour and excitement in her books. I wish the next in the series was available! Great narration as well.

Wonderfully entertaining
Perfect escapism, inventive and wonderfully entertaining
A wonderfully entertaining, inventive story. Loved the characters especially Harlow with her sword and attitude. A sentient sword what a great idea, and the character the Author has given it is great fun, and very deadly. The story moves at a good pace with lots of action, intrigue, corruption and magic. Loved it. The story grabbed me from the first and wouldn't let go. One of the most entertaining books I have read this year and I am really looking forward to reading book 2. The audio is enhanced with some sound effects which add to Victoria Villarreal 's superb narration

This is brilliant. I read a LOT and this is one of the good ones.
Interesting story, engaging characters, fun and serious in equal parts. Highly recommended. Female characters who are whole people, not defined by femininity but aren’t masculine to compensate. Fab.
