Summary
Varjak Paw is a Mesopotamian Blue kitten. He lives high up in an old house on a hill. He's never left home, but then his grandfather tells him about the Way - a secret martial art for cats.
Now Varjak must use the Way to survive in a city full of dangerous dogs, cat gangs and, strangest of all the mysterious vanishings.

Great story and characters.
Loved this. The narration was brilliant with such good character voices. The story has so many layers with real adventure , good lessons in being ones own person but no feeling of moralising. Super listen for children and adults.

Wanna be a cat?
This book lets you climb inside the society of cats. I love Varjak. It was great chasing the gang around the streets.

Marvellous!
My daughter and I loved this book and listened to it several times. Total escapism, beautifully narrated. The characters were brilliant and this story will be talked about for years in our house.

Reading this book as a teacher supporting reading writing. The children in my class I am sure will be inspired by this wonderful narrative.

Good recording.
We loved all the voices that the reader used, particularly the character of Cludge. Cludge was my favourite character and I loved how Jalal looked tough but Varjak went out and learnt some skills. Ben (9)
