It was purrrrrfect!

It was a fantastic story and spectacular because of how Andrew used expression and different voices for the characters. I felt emotion. It left me speechless because of how he used all the moves at the end! The best book ever... you must read this book it's really good. The Key Eldwick Primary School

Great story and narration

A really good story which we all enjoyed listening to in the car. I ended up letting my six year old stay up far too late so that I could hear the end! Really good narration and we particularly liked the way he voiced the dog character.

Varjak is the cat's pyjamas.

Where does Varjak Paw rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top twenty, yes indeed.

What other book might you compare Varjak Paw to, and why?

Haven't read anything like it, not being a cat lover, but I'd say it has a vague ring of Disney's The Aristocats about it

What does Andrew Sachs bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Mr Sachs brings a smooth rich telling of a wonderfully written story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Beautiful and witty, it sounds like a classic

Modern Classic

The story of Varjak Paw begins in a mansion, where he lives with his pampered family. But things change when a stranger appears on the scene with 2 menacing black cats. We follow Varjak's journey as he leaves the comfort and safety of the mansion and enters the dangerous world of the city. However, Varjak is no ordinary cat. He is helped by visions of his ancestor, who teachers his how to hunt and how to fight. We follow him on his exciting adventures, where he meets new friends and battles new enemies. This is an engaging tale that will delight and enthral children and adults alike. The audio version of the book is brought vividly to life by the late Andrew Sachs. Loved his voice as gave a different voice to all the characters in the book. He really made the characters come alive!

Marvellous!

My daughter and I loved this book and listened to it several times. Total escapism, beautifully narrated. The characters were brilliant and this story will be talked about for years in our house.
