Summary

Vampires and angels are locked in a deadly war. But first, they want their daughter back.

Half-vampire/half-angel, Violet was abandoned among the humans in London as a baby. Suddenly discovering monstrous powers on her 21st birthday, she thinks she's the most dangerous creature to prowl the streets.

She's wrong.

When a snarky angel falls into her lap and her adopted sister disappears, Violet is forced into a new role: huntress. But the deeper she's dragged into this supernatural world, the more she struggles to survive.

On the run, Violet will have to rely on a sexy vampire geek while facing off against the harem boy angel threatening her sister. There's only one way she'll win: by letting out the monster....

Great new series. Love the characters, the world is fresh and new while being familiar at the same time. Solid plot and great memorable lines etc. Laugh out loud funny

not for me

I had to give up after 5 chapters.
1) the music in between chapters is really annoying!
2) narration is quite fast, which is normally not a problem, but in this book every second word is slang and strong accent, so you don't have a chance to catch what is going on (I live in London, no we do not talk like this :))
3) fast pace of the story does not let you establish relationship with main characters, it is just too fast!

A roller coaster ride

This story is a fast paces roller coaster rider of vampires and angels. Violet turn 21 and everything changes. She is in a fight she doesn't understand the rules of. There are no rules.
I love this story, the narrator is a great choice.

Sexy high-octane thrill ride

This book is fast and furious and doesn't skimp on the action or the sexy men as it dives deep into a unique paranormal world where the line between angels and vamps is razor thin and tinged with blood. Don't turn your back because your allies aren't dependable, but your enemies are and they keep coming after the Bitch of Utopia. But she's got a power of her own and won't be held down. If you like high-octane thrill rides with sexy men, sexy times and plenty of punch, you'll love this book. Rosemary utterly brilliant in this book. She doesn't pull any punches as this tale twists from a kidnap story to a rescue story to a save the world kind of tale, and it's masterfully done. The end will leave you demanding more.

Irritating, both reader and story

Irritating voice and accent on the performer. The story could have been good but it is depressive and annoying with all the crash and bang words.

Loved Rebel and Violet!

I really enjoyed this story, it has two of my favorite paranormals, vampires and angels. I loved the action and pace of the storyline. The characters are awesome, I loved Rebel and Violet! The audiobook is also amazing. The Narrator did a great job. I cannot wait to dig into the next book in the series!

Total confusion

I don't normally give up on books, but with this one, I am making an exception. I have listened to over two hours of the audiobook and have no freaking idea what is happening. I usually enjoy urban fantasy books, especially those involving vampires, but this one just left me cold.

In order for me to invest time in a book, something has to grab my attention. Usually, it's the characters. With this book, I don't like any of them. Violet is a totally unlikable person, regardless of the fact that she was abandoned as an infant. Within just the first chapter, violence seems to be the main theme of the book. Violet lives with her drug dealer boyfriend, who is a total creep. After being stabbed by his nemesis, Rebel appears to save Violet, killing said boyfriend.

Rebel is an angel (I guess) who lives with a loathsome family of witches who abuse him mentally, physically and sexually. He takes Violet to their house for healing and to endure their abuse.

Honestly, I just couldn't figure out what was going on after listening to this much of the book. And, furthermore, I just didn't care. I also found some of the writing to be annoying with the constant use of comic book type sound effects for every punch and emotion. I finally decided that there are too many other books waiting to be read to try to slog through this one.

The narrator was the best part of the book and I stuck with the book as long as I did to see if the story got better. Maybe it would, but I'll never know.

Wow!

I love the narration and the story was so different than I thought it would be at the beginning, in the best way. It's amazing and I can't wait for more!

A good story!

This is a good story and the narrator does a great job telling it. She tells it with lots of emotion and flare. I didn't care for the music in between chapters.
