Story
There's a long list of things I don't handle well: Change. Relationships. Breakups. But there's one person above everything else I can't seem to get a handle on. Brody Wallace. In short, he's perfect. The reality, he scares me. He's the opposite of what I usually go for. He's bigger. Intimidating. He reminds me of someone I'd rather forget. When I need to find a new place to live, Brody offers me his spare room, but I have no plans on taking him up on the offer. He doesn't know what happened to me five years ago, and I want to keep it that way.

"Look out for Zach, and don't hit on him." My brother's request sounds easy enough. Keep an eye out for his best friend on campus and keep my hands to myself. Easy. Even if Zach is a quintessential nerd, who I've always thought was cute, I don't have the time to think with my...stick. There's only one stick I should be focused on this year, and that's my hockey stick. My goal once I graduate is to get an NHL contract. The last thing I need is a distraction. On or off the ice. Only, keeping to the rules is harder than I thought it would be.

Milo. Unusual. Quirky. Different. I’ve heard it all. I’ve accepted I’m not for everyone. When I find out I inherited a bookstore and apartment on a small East Coast island, I jump at the chance for a new life. Turns out I’ve also inherited a sexy, tattooed guy who not only rents the space next to my store but my apartment too. Gideon. I wasn’t looking for a roommate, but it’s not like I can stay at Milo’s place while he’s banished to a hotel. According to Milo, we’re bestie goals. And if he doesn’t wear pants at home, who am I to complain?

When it comes to hockey, I'm all about the game. I've worked for years to be one of the best in the league, and l've done it without splashing my orientation all over the tabloids. My hockey image is one I've carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all. He's cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. And okay, maybe he's the sexiest man I've ever known. We'll never get along. Not when we sleep together. Not even when my possessive streak awakens. That doesn't stop us from falling into bed together over and over again.

When my little brother’s best friend offers me a place to stay in exchange for menial duties, I swallow my pride and jump at the offer. I need this. I also need Beau to wear a shirt. Summary
Being an identical twin doesn't come without issues. No one can tell us apart, not even our parents sometimes. We don't usually use that to our advantage, but it comes in handy when my brother needs help breaking up with his boyfriends - which happens more than I'd care to admit.
I know it's enabling him, but I can't say no to Anders. I will do anything for my twin. The breakups always go the same; they're swift and simple. Until Reed. He's everything I've fantasized about but never allowed myself to have.
When I give in to temptation and begin to freak out, it's not because he's a guy. It's because he thinks I'm my brother, and I can't bring myself to tell him the truth.
Contains mature themes.

Warm fuzzies
This book is adorable. For such a big lie of twin switching, I was skeptical that it could turn around and be believable but holy bananas. This author made a believer out of me. The subplot was so perfect as well. I loved all the secondary characters and I’m hoping for a continuation of their stories.
My only complaint is that it had a few slow spots. But considering it’s such a short book and it was packed with so much content, it’s still a book I’m going to come back to and listen again.
The narration was so perfect. Clear, crisp, the narrators are such amazing actors. I was thoroughly impressed.

Sub-standard Narration
I Love Joel Leslie. He is an awesome narrator and hits it out of the park every time. He even does a halfway decent Aussie accent. Anthony Ferguson was just short of terrible. He sounded like he was reading an instruction manual. Almost zero intonation and when he did it was more often wrong than right.
I did enjoy the story but I think the performance dulled it a little. I've based my score for the story on how I felt with the Joel Leslie portions of the book.

I love Eden Finley's books. She has unique storylines and interesting characters. Mistaken identity with twins is an idea that I hadn't come across before.
The Reed chapters annoyed me technical wise. They were softer sounding and I kept having to stop and adjust the volume.

Eden Finley creates character you will fall for!
Eden Finley creates characters that you fall for, get frustrated with, hurt for, and rejoice with!
Law:
So many things to say about Law. He is one of those characters that you simultaneously want to cheer for, want to hug, and want to slap upside the head at the same time! He has a heart of gold and gives so much of himself to those he loves he sometimes forgets that he deserves everything too. I dare you not to fall for him.
Reed:
He endeared himself to me when he admitted that he needed a friend in a direct and guileless way. I think the true representation of Reed is the way he is with his students. He puts all of himself into making a difference in their lives.
Take these two amazing individuals and put them together and you have a couple that you want to cheer for. There is frustration you want to yell at them and tell them to talk to each other! That comes from the desire to want them happy and together. Give these two a chance like they did for each other!
What I liked about the narrators were the accents it was nice to hear and of course some accents are sexy...hint this is one of them. Another thing I love is when the book is dual perspective having 2 narrators really complete the experience!

So many red flags with how bad this book was.
So bad I couldn't stop cringing. No amount of suspension of disbelief could get me to believe in the set up to this plot.
This felt like what highschool teens recall twins being like. It treated identical twins like a novelty like adults can't distinguish one from the other. There's even very specific different mannerisms and physical differences mentioned like a eyebrow piercing. Yet this plot still tries to treat it like they can't be told apart. Anyone with half a brain and close physical and emotion intimacy with a person CAN tell a twin apart or that the person is not who you're used to.
It immediately started off with this horrible scene of a brother breaking up with another brothers boyfriend for him because this other brother has anxiety/PTSD issues that doesn't allow him to. So the twin essentially takes his place because 'he'd do anything for his brother'. A boyfriend. Someone that very obviously intimately knows their partner, their mannerisms and the distinct physical difference that they see all the time (the pierced eyebrow). That was immediately hard to swallow for an opening to this book and the logic Olympics its going to pull to try and pull off a lame plot.
The set up for the romantic interest was just so poorly done that I was getting nauseated with the poor choice of romance plot building.
The MC's romantic interest is essentially a blind date for the other brother but he was too anxious to go. So of course the other brother goes for him to decline him in person the date??? What? Why? In what world is that even a thing? No one does that. No one has ever done that. Call like the 30 year old grown ups they claim to be. Heck the brother could have even called for him if he was so anxious.
So then on the fly the brother during this date decided to hookup which is the worst Erotic scene ever as its like 20 seconds long and all hands with no build up, tension or heat. After this a surprise guest sees them and points out the lack of an eyebrow piercing. And then he claims to have taken it out to skirt the issue on him not being who he said he was. Then this is just like swept aside? Everyone at our age has seen eyebrow piercings. Even when they are taken out, they leave a mark, you can see the bump where the missing piercing is. Absolutely no one would believe this. The reason for lieing also is just hard to buy into in the first place. It was a blind date, this guy has no attachment or knowledge of the other brother in the first place. Why? This is a awful book that is why.
Anyways. Then this book tries to sell that the MC is ashamed of his sexuality. This makes no sense when the book very clearly tells us that in this world, these surrounding, these people in it are all very accepting people and no stranger to different sexual orientations and on top of that his own twin brother homosexual. How then am I supposed to believe any of this 'shame' the characters trying to sell to get the reasoning with this plot started?
This PTSD/Anxiety issue for the other brother also is so poorly built up that it turned this into a sorta cringe fest of bad writing. It felt like an exploitive tool to try and excuse some of the logic Olympics behind this plot.
This fails to do anything right to be coherent or believable and just is a mess.
Highly recommend against this book.
