Who can you trust when the deck is eternally stacked against you? Empath Toula Thibodeaux has enough problems as the guardian of three extraordinary young girls. Focused on protecting her family, she doesn’t need the instant attraction to an appealing messenger sent to warn her of impending doom.

When human-angel hybrid Henri Gregory tracks down the target of a demonic plot, he never expects to find gifted children protected by a chip-on-her-shoulder, capable empath. An empath who quickly sneaks under his defenses to the man beneath. Toula senses Henri’s hidden motives despite assurances he's on her side.

As their growing feelings lead the way, can their unshakable faith protect the girls< or is their new love destined to be torn apart by an immortal being with all the time in the world?

This was an interesting start of the story. It lacked a bit more explanation and I had a lot of questions of what was going and why.

Interesting introduction to series

Great prequel. Really sets the scene to what will follow. It was steady with a good grasp of characters.

Unshakable is the prequel to the Midheaven series. Here we meet Empath Toula Thibodeaux and human-angel hybrid Henri Gregory. Toula is the the guardian of her three granddaughters. She senses danger out to get her family and so she performs a protection spell. So focused on protecting her girls, the last thing she needs is the distraction in the form of hot Henri who has been sent to warn and help her with the impending danger and doom.

As their feelings grow, can they have their love story, as well as protect the girls from the immortal being out to destroy them? Or will they fail their mission and be torn apart?

This was a nice and short intro into the series. It got me interested in reading book 1. I wished it had been longer and we had gotten more development in their romance and more explanations into the prophecy and the girls’ powers. Nonetheless, I enjoyed the journey this book took me on.

The book was narrated by Christy Lynn. The narration was perfect and I felt the characters and story came to life. The emotions were there!

A great prequel and intro into the main series!
