Summary

Benjamin

I never imagined I'd get this kind of news. Suddenly, I have a nephew that is an orphan. I can't understand what happened and I still half-expect my sister to walk through the door at any moment. He's never leaving my arms again.

Yet here comes Mr. Big Shot, ready to steal the last bit of my sister that I have away from me. I'll do anything to keep him. Even if that means seducing the guy that disappeared over a decade ago. His Hollywood dreams were more important than us small-town yokels. Wasn't that what he said?

Sure, he's a charmer, but he's not getting my nephew.

Micah

When I donated my sperm to let my best friend and her wife have a child of their own, I never expected that I'd end up involved in their son's life. We'd made an agreement long before the procedure took place and, though I'd wanted to be involved afterward, I had adhered to it. He was their son. I knew they'd take care of him.

At least, until something terrible happened. Now I have to face fatherhood with...him.

God, I've loved him since I was old enough to know what love is. He's never had a clue. Now I'm supposed to cope with him so close, still ignoring what I want?

This surprise baby novel is full of heartbreak and wholehearted affection. It contains steamy scenes that should only be heard by adults. Eighteen and older, please.

Great storyline

I really enjoyed this book. Randi brings the characters to life so so well. The storyline is like nothing I’ve read before. Great chemistry between the characters.

Cute story

This was a nice cute story.
There is some inconsistencies about legal stuff and OTT decisions, but overall it was a good listen. It's not a masterpiece or something to take very seriously, but there is a HEA an it was heartwarming and cute.

Randi Johnson did a good job here. It is one of his first work, so it's not so good like his new ones. My mainly complaint is the pacing, it's a little too fast and I got lost a few times. But his voice is deep, raspy and OTT se*y, love it.

Narration improved the book

Ben takes his nephew when his sister is killed. The death is bad enough but now he has to deal with the boys father.

Micah is on the cusp of getting the acting role that will make him a household name. Donating sperm to his best friend and her wife was his good deed. Finding out he is now Ross’s guardian does not bode well for his future plans. His youthful feelings for Ben are also confusing.

Sweet story about making a family in the darkest of circumstances. It was an okay book. Some continuity issues. I like Ben and Micah but didn’t really connect to them as a couple. Ross was probably the best character in the book.

The narration by Randy Johnson improved the story, I liked his interpretation of Micah and Ben, they each had their own distinct voices. He made me want to meet Ross.

Beating Hearts

I enjoyed this book so much. The author and narrator and the author is new to me. The narrator brought the book to life for me. This is a must listen too. Can't wait to hear more from this author.

Unscripted

New author for me. Read the blurb thought the story looked good and had potential. This story fell flat for me. I didn't really connect with the characters and didn't really feel a great connection between Micah and Ben. There were also some editing/continuity issues that threw me out of the story. The narration was the best part.

Unscripted Hearts

This story had a lot of potential but it fell really short. There were a lot of continuity errors. At one point the Micah and Ben are on the phone (across the country) and then all of a sudden Micah is reaching out to hold Ben's hand, then they are back on the phone. It kept saying that Micah had to go back home by Friday, then earlier, but a whole week passed and he still "had to go back friday". It made it really hard to stick with the story and keep going. The only thing that kept me listening was the narration by Randi Johnson. The performance was well done and pulled me to the end of the story.

GREAT STORY!

I absolutely loved it! The narration was superb and gave the story that extra flair. The author did a great job with the character builds and plot. It will keep you entertained. I have listened to numerous books that were narrated by Randi Johnson and I can honestly say that this is his best yet (I always enjoy his narration anyway)! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Good Story

It was a good story. Ben's twin sister and her wife die leaving her son Ross to be raised by Ben and Micah, Ross's biological father. The relation ship starts out a little rocky, but they over come the issues that arise .

Hard won romance

This is an entertaining story. There are a few editorial inconsistencies, but they didn't really interfere with the story.

Ben's twin sister, Lindsay, and her wife are killed in an accident and leave behind their toddler, Ross. Ross is biologically Micha's son, as Lindsay was his best friend and they asked him to be the donor for their child.

Micha moved to LA to chase his dream of being an actor, and his career is about to take off. Ben owns a construction company and seems to be in a better position to take care of Ross. However, as time passes, things aren't always what they seem.

It turns out that both our MCs are imperfect, and must compromise in order to co-parent successfully. As the story unfolds, so do the feelings between Ben and Micha. But Ben is stubborn and set in his ways, and Micha is torn between his obligations to his new family and his career.

Overall, this is a back and forth almost love/hate relationship, but in the end we get our HEA.

I have listened to this narrator several times, and I have to say that this is probably the best performance I have heard from him yet. His characters are very well differentiated and the nuances of the story are spot on. I especially enjoyed his choice of voice for Ross. I thought it was great!

Good and Different

Not what I expected but I liked it. I can hear the difference in narrator Randi Johnson from his work a few months ago. He makes the characters come alive for me and I enjoy the combination of Randi and author Peter Styles.

Creation of a Family

Good story about Benjamin, a construction worker (Lindsey’s twin brother) and Micah, an actor (Lindsey’s best friend). Lindsey and her wife were killed in an accident and left behind a toddler, Ross. Lindsey used her best friend Micah as the sperm donor for her son Ross. This book shows us the struggles with Ben and Micah creating a family for Ross. Neither wanted to admit feelings for the other. This is the second book I listened to narrated by Randi Johnson. He was good in the first book but was very good in this book, especially in differentiating the character voices. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and a narrator can make or break a book. Randi definitely made this book. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Excellent

This is a lovely mm romance. A beautiful story about a guy who helped his best friend get pregnant only to find out years later that she and her spouse had died in a car accident. Her brother is already filling in as a surrogate father and sparks begin to fly.
This is an extremely well written book and the characters are very true to life.
The narration is excellent.
I received this book for a fair and impartial review

Great Story, Great narration

This one started a bit slow, but turned out to be one of the best I've listened to. Story was a fun old crush, new love tale that started with tragedy. My heart went out to little Ross over his loss, and Michi being thrown into fatherhood in the middle of his biggest career break ever was a real wake up call for him. Ben also faced a hard role in raising his nephew after losing his sister. The story flowed well and Randi Johnson made it so realistic. He mastered the voices of all the charactors very well and is really beginning to shine. This was his best yet.
I was gifted this book in exchange for a review. I will listen to it again and will follow Peter Styles and Randi Johnson in their careers.

Instant fatherhood

Ben loses his sister who is also his best friend in an accident. She was also Micah's best friend and he had donated sperm to her so that she and her wife could have a child. Ross is the young son. Both men never expected to become a parent but both are willing to do so. This is a story of 3 people trying to cope with incredible loss and trying to adapt to a new way of life. Peter Styles does an excellent job of showing us how these characters deal with all of this chaos in their lives and how it brings new feelings for Ben and Micah. It is a compelling story of loss, rivalry, consideration, compromise, new awakenings, facing one's fears, realizing one's priorities, new love, and most of all love for a young boy and each other.

Randi does a good job of storytelling.

Through #audiobookobsession I volunteered to leave an honest review of this book. I highly recommend it. It will have you crying, wanting to shake some sense into Ben and Micah, falling in love with Ross, wanting to hug and hold all 3 characters, and loving to be apart of their journey.
