Again and again what an excellent story with a truly superb narration.
Victor is challenged almost to his limit. The convolutions of the story and the high quality construction require the listener to defer less important commitments to discover the conclusion of the story.

If this is your first victor book you are very lucky, because you have so many more previous books to listen/ read.

The best one yet

If anything this series gets better. I've listened to all of the Victor books and each new one never fails to please. I love the detail the author goes into, and the effort in making the plof move along without holes. Great narration by Peter Noble

Another outstanding story

Five stars all round. I have enjoyed all of this series but this one is something else, so good. The story shifts and twists. I think Tom Wood has addressed some of the limitations of the younger and fitter Victor who had few flaws in his ability and his clarity of thought. Here he is, older and occasionally reflective, now comprehending the impact of age and life experience. This is woven into a book that is engaging and really gripping. The writing is outstanding throughout. The violence is shocking even at times when the description is relentless.

It's a book that's best understood as part of the whole series, but it could be read as a stand alone. However, if you've not had the pleasure, grab the first book (The Hunter) and acquaint yourself with this remarkable series..

'Victor the Assassin' as a title, sounds like a pulp series. Don't let that put you off. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Excellent
