About this listen
A 20-year age gap, a neurodivergent "boy" and a gray ace of a "Daddy", both lonely and unable to find their match...until now.
Ethan Humboldt is a cocky, confident chef with zero filter and even less humility. He’s also a very good, neurodivergent boy who’s been searching far too long for the perfect Daddy. At 30, Ethan knows what he wants - and what he needs. The only problem? Finding a caregiving type of Daddy to provide it.
Danvers Jones has more money than he knows what to do with and nobody to spend it on. He’s not looking for a fling, Dan needs someone to pamper. To romance...to adore. As a romantic gray ace, nothing else will do it for him.
Newly retired, Dan has one final mission - to find his former best friend's long-lost son and deliver a trust fund. After that, Dan’s determined to start fully living his life, which starts with the right partner. Only problem? Dan requires the type of person who’ll need his unique brand of Daddy.
Danvers and Ethan aren’t expecting to meet their perfect match in a random meet-cute gone wrong, but when does life ever go according to plan?
This stand-alone novel is a full-length, 43,000-word non-age-play Daddy romance. The core of this story was previously published as a 15,000-word short in the USA Today best-selling Dirty Daddies 2021 Anthology. It’s now been reworked and lengthened to provide the tale as originally intended.

Instalove
Autistic Chef/Boy looking for a Daddy. Has had difficulty finding someone patient that would accept his quirks.
A newly retired lawyer/Daddy wants to use his now free time and money to find a Boy to spoil and love. His last work case is to find the son of his ex best friend whom he didn't know about, to inform him his dad has died and to give him his inheritance.
I enjoyed this short story. It was very cute, had no angst and was very sweet. It was shorter and more instalove than I'm use to from this author though. It was well written and I thought the subject matter came across both accurately and sensitively. It was very low heat but I expected that from the Ace mention in the blurb so I didn't mind but readers looking for steam might want to read something else. The characters were fantastic and perfectly suited for each other and had amazing emotional chemistry. This book left me grinning from start to finish and I listened to it in one listen.
Michael Dean's performance was wonderful as always and he brought the story to life and made it a pleasure to listen to. He expressed all the emotions and did different voices that all suited the characters perfectly. He manages to perfectly sound like the older Daddy and the younger Boy and did all the female voices perfectly too. He is one of my favorite narrators.
Cute story and fabulous narration

I think the story is really unique so the title is pretty appropriate. I loved the way these two guys meshed with each other. Michael Dean’s performance of both characters is great but I really loved how he voiced Ethan. I was hooked on this story right from the beginning and once I started, I didn’t stop listening until I was finished.
Danvers was so accepting of everything about Ethan and didn’t run away or criticize any of his quirks like his previous boyfriends had. When Ethan had a meltdown Danvers acted quickly to find out the best way for him to help Ethan. There really wasn’t anything that I didn’t love about this book and I’m glad that I got to listen to Michael Dean’s interpretation of Danvers and Ethan.
A copy of this book and audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author/narrator.

Sometimes you just need a fluffy and sweet story, and Susan Hawke is especially good at those. I read this story when it was part of the Dirty Daddies: 2021 Anniversary Anthology, and I read it again now that Ms. Hawke added to it.
Ethan is neurodivergent, on the Autism spectrum, and a great chef and restaurant owner. Dan just retired from his job as a lawyer after realizing he wants more of life and that includes finding a boy to cherish.
Ethan and his Daddy (Dan) were perfect for each other from the start, and I loved seeing how their relationship progressed. It was very insta, and definitely not usual, seeing as Ethan's mother delivered the 7-day contract they signed, but when you know, you know, and these two definitely belonged together. I loved their talks and how Dan dealt with Ethan's neurodiversity, helping him in ways other daddies never could.
Michael Dean did a fantastic job with the narration, he nailed Ethan's dry humor and his deadpan delivery, and Dan's sweet and caring Daddy nature.
Super recommendable!

The protagonists are different and that makes this book special. Danvers is a daddy who just loves to cuddle. He is looking for a boy and meets the perfect boy when he doesn't even expect it. Ethan is a neurodiverse restaurant owner who has no filter and always says what he wants directly. This has put off most of Ethan's previous daddies, but Danvers finds him adorable.
The two just harmonize incredibly well and you can feel the love between them. A sweet and romantic story.
Michael Dean did a great job and especially Ethan he portrayed really well. He brought the book and the characters to life with his performance. The audiobook was very entertaining to listen to.
I requested a free copy of the audiobook and this is my honest opinion that I am volunteering.

Danvers is just the right man for the job. He’s had a long successful career as a lawyer and has amassed a decent portfolio. But he’s missing the right person in his life. The right boy. And when his path crosses with Ethan, the gray ace daddy suddenly feels hope.
It’s not all smooth sailing, of course. These are two men who know what they want. Can they compromise to make it work? Can they see a future where they don’t need a contract in order to have their happily ever after?
I loved how the story evolved and didn’t feel forced. When you know you’ve met your soulmate, it’s time to seize the day. This is a great love story.
And Michael Dean narrated it brilliantly. He hit just the right notes with Ethan so he was easy to relate to. His quirks didn’t seem insurmountable. And his Danvers was perfect. Empathetic but still strong and in control. I highly recommend this audiobook.
