In the Jianghu, there is only the illusion of peace…

Sen has returned from the capital and reluctantly begun the work of building a sect. Yet the endless politics, rivalries, and logistical burdens of leadership weigh heavily on a man who once answered to no one. Every day pulls him deeper into a life he never truly wanted.

Only the looming war with the spirit beasts keeps him from abandoning it all.

Yet, not even distance can allow someone as famous as Judgment’s Gale to go undisturbed for long. Emissaries from sects begin to intrude on his small corner of the world. Some come with benign intentions, while others come to put the former wandering cultivator in his place.

Once, Sen could simply walk away. Now he has a sect to protect and a daughter whose safety he will defend at any cost. Sen may find that war of a different kind is unavoidable…

I think the MC is still very mature for his age…. I think scorched earth would be my choice. It’s almost slice of life with lots of fighting…. Great escape from real life.

This is one of my favourite series

The stories of Sen are pretty good and this has become a familiar habit to get these and listen to his adventures. As he has grown stronger while surviving the trials and tribulations, the characters have become ingrained into how cultivators should act in all series. A little worried as he seems to he coming a lot closer to the end but this is a must have addition to the series as his emotions have been wonderfully written for this one.
I requested this audio and have left my own thoughts for all to joy.

Man that was a drag, which is unexpected for this series. Half the book is sens thoughts to the point that mid conversation the author will decide to put that on hold while he goes on the tenth 5 minute long explanation of every little thought that may have crossed Sens mind, and the worst part is it’s mostly rehashing the same handful of moral quandaries from almost identical angles just over and over again.

We get it, he’s torn on what he’s doing but knows it must be done, you’ve said it a million times brother talk about something else please.

Sincerely hope this was just a bad book and not an indication of how the series will be going forwards.

Worst of the series so far…
