Summary

Libéré de l'horreur des tranchées où il a combattu, Tom Sherbourne, de retour en Australie, devient gardien de phare sur l'île de Janus, une île sur les Lights, sauvage et reculée. À l'abri du tumulte du monde, il coule des jours heureux avec sa femme Isabel ; un bonheur peu à peu contrarié par l'impossibilité d'avoir un enfant.
