About this listen

Love him or loathe him, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson is an icon and one of the most fascinating sporting figures of our time. In this no-holds-barred autobiography, Tyson lays bare his demons and tells his story: from poverty to stardom to hell and back again

In this, his first, autobiography, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson pulls no punches and lays bare the story of his remarkable life and career. Co-written with Larry Sloman, author of Antony Keidis’s best-selling memoir ‘Scar Tissue’, this is a visceral, and unputdown-able story of a man born and raised to brutality, who reached the heights of stardom before falling to crime, substance abuse and infamy.
Full of all the controversy and complexity that you would expect from a man who delighted as much as he shocked, this is a book that will surprise people and reveal a fascinating character beneath the exterior of violence.
If you think you know all about Mike Tyson, read this book and think again.

I loved hearing about the early years but later on went on as bit. a lot of the book I wasn't sure whether I was on Mike's side or not but if your a boxing fan it's definitely worth a listen

Brilliantly read and u loved the early years

I absolutely loved this book. Mike is extremely honest about his life, feelings, flaws and his mental health. A lot detail about what was happening prior to fights that fill in alot of blanks and explaining his thoughts during fights, as someone who has followed his career in the early days this was of great interest to me. It has taken me quickest time to listen to a book this length, a definite page Turner (if you had an actual book), the reader does an excellent job in keeping the listener captivated. The best autobiography I've heard thus far. A must listen.

Amazing journey

I didn’t expect the honesty and openness that Mike poured out in this book.
I grew up watching boxing with my dad and I was a Mike Tyson fan in teenage years.
It was hearing clips of his podcast that made me want to listen to his book.
Today he seems so wise and is clearly a deep thinker. I’m now a bigger fan of his than before. His journey is mind blowing but his view of self is heartbreaking. He beats himself up a lot but his generosity and understanding of coming up from nothing meant he gave a lot away. But it’s sad to see that he thinks he blew it all away.
I think we are all here to learn something and even though Tyson was born brand new, he has experienced, learned and adjusted in a way that I believe God wants us all to. To see the world for what it is and see through all the crap and become in tune with your soul. He has accomplished more than he knows.
Great book, I’ve always thought of him as the boxer with the temper, now I see his heart and the struggles he’s overcoming to be a great man.

Great listen
