About this listen

One of Rosamunde Pilcher's classic novels.

Flora and Rose are identical twins who do not know of each other's existence. Rose has been raised by her frivolous mother with the glossy international jet set. Flora has spent her childhood in the beauty and quiet of her father's Cornish cottage. And then, by chance, they meet.

The encounter seems heaven-sent to Rose, who longs to escape from a man she no longer desires. Flora can free her, and, in taking her sister's place, her uneventful life is changed forever. She finds drama and danger - and glimpses a happiness beyond her wildest dreams.

Very reassuring and easy to listen to. A typical Rosamund Pilcher book. But she does it well.
For those of us of a certain age it takes us back to a more simple time. Very nostalgic.

Reliably charming

A lovely story - but the real joy was the narration. Different voices and accents for all the characters and a lovely tone. So very enjoyable.

Delightful

Just beautiful! 🌺 If you want to read a well written story, that's full of heartwarming characters and brilliantly narrated, then this is your book. I love the style of writing from times gone by, there is definitely more depth, wisdom, real people, beautiful places, and humour. I love Rosemunde Pilcher's writing so much, it was when writing really was a beautiful piece of art. This is my forth novel of Rosemunde's, and there will definitely be more. I just find them so heartwarming, gentle and relaxing. Pure escapism! 🌻📚

For Pilcher fans this is another example of her tried and tested formula - a love story set in a remote location and populated (mostly!) with warm characters and with description enough to picture it all vividly. As a book to fall asleep to nightly and look forward to the next instalment next night it was a pleasure. The narrator was excellent.

A lovely escapist tale
