I liked the first storey but I really struggled with the speaker in the second storey, so much so I can’t really remember what the story was afterwards.

Chapter 1, the first storey and the person speaking was good and I enjoyed!

I didn't realise before buying this that it was just over an hour in total. I felt one of the stories was really close to the plot of Beautiful world where are you. Don't think it was long enough to really rate or get in to.

A brief foray back into the world of Sally Rooney’s writing. I loved the simplicity of each line, her writing is so delicate and cuts straight to the point. Looking forward to her next novel after reading these short stories.

After listening to several long historical set books recently I was looking through my library for a quick contemporary read and this seemed ideal. I loved Normal People by the same author, and this collection of two short stories is very much in that same vein of very real feeling, believable characters going about their everyday lives. We don’t really spend enough time with the characters in either story to really fall in love with them like you do with the characters from NP, but they are enjoyable to listen to, and read perfectly by the respective narrators. Recommended for Sally Rooney fans for sure.
