Twilight Robbery is the extraordinary sequel to the award-winning Fly By Night by Costa winner Frances Hardinge.

The city at night is a dangerous place . . .

Mosca Mye and Eponymous Clent are in trouble again. Escaping disaster by the skin of their teeth, they find refuge in Toll, the strange gateway town where visitors may neither enter nor leave without paying a price. By day, the city is well-mannered and orderly; by night, it's the haunt of rogues and villains. Wherever there's a plot, there's sure to be treachery, and wherever there's treachery, there's sure to be trouble – and where there's trouble, Clent, Mosca and the web-footed apocalypse Saracen the goose can't be far behind. But as past deeds catch up with them and old enemies appear, it looks as if this time there's no way out . . .

I had low expectations for this book after Fly By Night stole my heart as a teenager, but I was so pleasantly surprised. Beautifully written and very well read.

Such a good sequel

Looking forward to Moska's next jap into the future and hoping she meets up again with all the characters in this book and the previous one ...

Another great book 🙂

A very worthy follow-up to the first book. The characters are expertly developed and well rounded; the writing clever, humorous and well crafted. This may be middle grade fantasy, but at 54 I found it every bit as enjoyable as adult fiction. Much to my relief, the chosen narrator enhances the narrative with comic timing and a thorough understanding of the writer’s rhythms and inference. Highly recommended, but get Fly By Night first!

A gem!

Story of imagination and adventure in an immersively created world. Dauntless heroine & accomplices. Great narrator.

Hardinge creates a richly imagined, dark dangerous world with Mosca as a shrewd, intrepid, truth-telling heroine. Wonderful writing and very well read - an absorbing, transporting story.
