About this listen

Collins makes language learning fun, fast and flexible. Pick up the essentials of the Turkish language with this easy-to-use audio introduction. Covering everything from finding your way to talking about yourself, Collins 40-minute audio can help you learn short and simple phrases quickly by just listening and repeating.

Collins Gem Phrase Books are designed for ease of use, with practical, flexible phrases that can be adapted to suit the needs of the traveller. But often, it’s not the question that’s the problem, it’s the reply. This downloadable audio file for your Audible-compatible mp3 player (including your iPod) addresses this problem.

Along with the key phrases you need to get by – simple, to-the-point and polite – the audio file gives you an idea of what the shopkeeper, the waiter, or the passer-by you ask directions from may say to you.

This volume uses this unique approach to teach the reader (and listener) Turkish quickly and effectively.

We planned a three-day trip to Istanbul and as I hate to go to a country and not be able to speak even a few words of the language, I bought this audiobook. It was excellent - very clear and using basic polite phrases - thank you, hello, goodbye, how much is this?, please, where is the... etc. Presented in a way which made it easy to remember the phrases and impress the locals! Very good value for money and highly recommended.

Perfect for basics for a short break

not as simple as the title would suggest. I needed to use Google translate to see how the words were spelt. then I could form the sounds and give it a go. worth a try and not expensive, but don't expect to have a conversation.

not as easy as it suggests.
