Summary

Instant New York Times best seller

In love for the first time, a son’s decisions about the future divides his family in this fearless and thought-provoking novel from the number one New York Times best-selling author of life-changing fiction.

When 18-year-old Tommy Baxter declares to his family that he wants to be a police officer after graduation, his mother, Reagan, won’t hear of it. After all, she’s still mourning the death of her own father on September 11, and she’s determined to keep her son safe from danger. But Tommy’s father, Luke, is proud of Tommy’s decision. He would make a kind and compassionate cop.

Meanwhile, Tommy is in love for the first time. His sweet relationship with Annalee Miller is almost too good to be true. Tommy begins seriously thinking about the far-off day when he can ask her to marry him, but she hasn’t been feeling well. Tests reveal the unthinkable.

While his girlfriend begins the fight of her life, Tommy is driven to learn more about the circumstances surrounding his birth and the grandfather he never knew. Secrets come to light that rock Tommy’s world, and he becomes determined to spend his future fighting crime and bringing peace to the streets. Or is this just his way to fight a battle he cannot win - the one facing Annalee?

Blending romance and family drama, Truly, Madly, Deeply shows us that, in the shadow of great loss, the only way to live with passion is truly, madly, deeply.

Lovely story

Yet again another captivating story. Read really well. It had me hooked throughout the story. A definite great story. This is another book about the Baxter family but can be read without reading any of the other books.

Classic KK 😊

I love the continuing Baxter's stories and Karen Kingsbury's Faith-ful delivery. Great narrators too, I enjoyed it. I'd like a little more light-hearted story in between the hard parts to lighten it this time. Some difficult themes to explore.

Not my favorite

I’ve read many of Karen’s books. I know she is gifted. But this book was not one my teen would be able to read. The was a lot of talk about kissing, sensual and drawn out time and time again. Then the main character has a vision where she talks about sleeping w her boyfriend and even talks of them taking of their shirts. It was pretty predictable and a lot of repeated information. It loved very slow. The girl narrator was great! The guy trying to do the girl voice was too weird, she sounded like a rough guy you’d meet in the alley. I want good Christian stories that don’t go the way of the world. She includes a lot of scripture so it feels like an oxymoron to have all that other stuff.

I couldn’t finish

This book is too much. The only word I can come up with is “cheesy”. I don’t understand people that loved it so much

Wonderful!

Another wonderful story by Karen Kinsbury. Once again, I couldn’t seem to put the story down. I love that the author incorporates current things happening in today’s world like human trafficking and the raw emotions that people face, whether it be anger, anxiety, sadness, or pure joy. This book is amazing. Read it- you won’t regret it!!!

Wonderful as always!

The only thing that bothered me about this one is that it ended very abruptly. Wasn’t ready for that. But, otherwise, it was wonderful!

A MUST READ for all!! My new favorite!!

Kingsbury has done it again! She has written a life changing story to make you sit up and take notice! If you weren't a Karen Kingsbury fan before reading this story, then you will be after reading it! I still believe that no other writer comes close to being able to make you feel like you are a part of the characters family, in this case, The Baxter's, and you want to hug them, pray with them, celebrate with them, cry with them, and have the same support from them to you! Thanks, Karen, for once again sharing your Baxter family with me!
