Özet
It's thirty years since Harry Starks and his gang kept the underworld of Soho under control, but the consequences of their brutal reign are still being felt.

Julie McCluskey, the actress daughter of one of Starks' victims, has grown up without a father and now that she's discovered it was money from her father's murderers that put her through drama school, she's furious. Furious with her mother for accepting it, but even more furious with Harry Starks - and she's decided she wants revenge. Crime Fiction Suspense Thriller & Suspense Duygusal olarak çekici

I loved Arnott’s Long Firm which centred on Harry Stark, erstwhile gangster. His name appeared in the blurb for this, and as Stark was such a compelling character i bought into it.
The book was enjoyable and well read, but Stark is barely a peripheral character so I was a bit disappointed.
The strange thing is that while the no el applies a sort of critical scrutiny to the whole True Crime genre, this book and its protagonists are really guilty of all the cliches and tropes that the author pinpoints so correctly. Nonetheless, Arnott is an excellent novelist with an amazing ear for dialogue (well served by the talented reader here) and i really enjoyed it.

Enjoyable but less than it seems

Arnott really knows these characters and the scenes they inhabited, and brings them to life like no other author I’ve ever read. The richness of this book runs deep, he says something about the human condition, and gets it so right. This is class.

Remarkable and brilliant

Funny, Great Story. Dave John is the best story teller around. I've listened to almost all the books he's read, he brings them to life and full of character. Please do more!

Dave John Should do more !
