It was with sadness that I read this book, many years after I left the gender roles belief system it reflects. Written in an authoritative tone, this book perpetuates what I have come to believe is a deeply harmful belief that women were created to be “amenable” supporters of men’s callings. It’s dressed up with Christian-sounding words, but doesn’t actually offer reasonable biblical or theological support for its opinions.

Please don’t read this book unless you’re doing research on a particular modern subset of evangelical Christian gender roles. Its authors likely intend well, but that doesn’t mean that the results of their teachings don’t still lead to devastating consequences.
